Diva - Self-oscillation

Can someone explain how to make the filter self-oscillate using Diva?

Crank up resonance, turn down VCO levels (use Triple VCO or Dual VCO Eco) or switch VCOs off completely (possible with DCO, Dual VCO). If you can't here it, wiggle cutoff knob until it enters the hearing range

If you want to play notes like with the oscillators you'll also need filter keytracking at 100% and "tune" with the Cutoff knob (and maybe a tuning plugin).
For adding vibrato you have to use LFO Cutoff modulation instead of pitch modulation. Using the filter enveloep has teh effect of a pitch enveloep in this case so filter envelope amount has to be 0 for no pitch modulation.
In the default patch (at a value of 100.00) and a maximum keytracking amount the Minimoog modules in Diva should be already tuned correctly. Use a Cutoff value of 88.00 for one octave lower and the 76.00 for another octave etc.

Here is a Diva patch file with a self Oscillation Lead sound (vibrato added with aftertouch):

If the pitch is too high you could set transpose to -24 or change the Cutoff to 88.00 (or 76.00 etc.).
Possible that such a patch was in the factory sounds but doing this from scratch was faster than searching...

Ok, thanks for the hints & tips. I can't really get a playable/audible sound unless the cutoff is around 40%. Could that be right?

For deep sub bass, try the Bite filters. They're Sallen Key filters and have no such attenuation

Easy to forget, there's also a sine wave in the Dual VCO module, which is FM'able. Pretty cool to have as sine waves aren't that common on analog synths.
