Not so sure of the point of that, and it kind of breaks the non modal philosophy

I would have to agree...but the pic may not tell the whole story.aMUSEd wrote:Not so sure of the point of that, and it kind of breaks the non modal philosophy

Ha, images don't have any effect on me... Is that all you've got? Sneak screenshots of the tracktion GUI plus some FX into the wild? You have to do much better than that, Woodie!
Huh, I suddenly feel like sending some drums through my Komplete FX... Don't know why...

But every VST/filter launches in its own window; and if a rack is a collection of filters, surely this then makes sense?aMUSEd wrote:Not so sure of the point of that, and it kind of breaks the non modal philosophy

That was my first thought, too. It just makes the racks work the same as other filters. Considering how they get plugged into a track's flow like filters do...mcnelson wrote:But every VST/filter launches in its own window; and if a rack is a collection of filters, surely this then makes sense?aMUSEd wrote:Not so sure of the point of that, and it kind of breaks the non modal philosophy
Surely there must be consensus by now...

This would be AWESOME, and unique (I believe).MasonAtom wrote:Does anyone know if T5 will have AAF project import/export? It would be cool to be able to transfer between my mobile Auria/iPad/Apogee setup and my desktop DAW.
Is there another host that does this?

Perhaps it's the only way to get access to all the individual controls at the same time? Did the old way only let you access the parameters of one of the rack elements in the Properties area?Gymnopedies wrote:I would have to agree...but the pic may not tell the whole story.aMUSEd wrote:Not so sure of the point of that, and it kind of breaks the non modal philosophy
I may be guessing.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

It's a filter, so it would be inconsistent not to put it in a modal window, just like any other filter.

Tractioneers, It is now one week after 'someone' promissed T5 would be released....
Jules said days ago that he was 'minutes' away from release, now TSC says they have to prep a video???
There are some of us that made purchase decisions (e.g. vs. Reaper, etc.) based on this due to timley needs. Please don't frustraight us further.
If certain VST's didn't cause T3 to crash, I wouldn't be in such a rush, but I have sessions that need to occur..............................
At least put a beta version out for us, we don't need a training video to use 96% of what we already know.
Thanks

It's not a modal window, and having it doesn't break a non-modal philosophy.spaceman wrote:It's a filter, so it would be inconsistent not to put it in a modal window, just like any other filter.
A modal window stops you using the parent window till you respond to the child window (like "Press OK or Cancel" button type popup windows).
It's a modeless window, like other filters always have been.
There's always been a limited number of modal windows in Tracktion (try opening a different edit, if you've not saved the currently open one in T4 and earlier)

Use the T4 demo if certain VSTs cause T3 to crash, and what you need this second is to work around that.corba wrote:Tractioneers, It is now one week after 'someone' promissed T5 would be released....

Who (from TSC) promised it would be released last week? AFAIK this was something Music Radar stated (that T5 would be released to coincide with NAMM), and so far no one has been able to substantiate where this information came from.corba wrote:Tractioneers, It is now one week after 'someone' promissed T5 would be released....
Jules said he was waiting for the Web guys to do their thing, then Woody said they have some other stuff to finish first - videos, and also Rack examples if you read the preceeding pages.

For the sake of accuracy, the "super excited" video featuring Woody says "released at NAMM".
Presumably as recently as a week before NAMM when Woody was in that video, the intention was to release at NAMM. But for some reason it wasn't ready is all.

I agree with corba and headquest. I think TSC have miscalculated the whole thing concerning the release date and gone under pressure.
I can understand that many people are a bit angry because the marketing strategy from TSC is very emotional and flooded with superlatives.
Let´s launch the rocket, guys....
