While composing sessions on a netbook travelling in trains, I often use MuLab's virtual keyboard for trying chords and variations. But there are some limitations that reduce the usability:
  • There are only 3 keyboard layouts. German layout (qwertz) is not supported.
There are only a few keys supported. A computer keyboard would allow much more than one octave.
I guess, it's not an adequat time for feature requests while bug fixing an documenting this wonderful software - anyhow, here ist my suggestion:
A user definable keyboard mapping.
What would you guys (and girls?) say?

Yep, MuLab 5.4.1 and still no virtual keyboard octave shift(or modulation/pitch hold function). About the only thing lacking for me to justify a purchase. :(

I'm using VMPK as my main virtual keyboard http://vmpk.sourceforge.net/ You'll also need some virtual midi cable. But nothing's better than the real midi keyboard (even small/cheap portable one) as most computer keyboards have large jitter and some keys combinations/chords can lock them (think - low polyphony).

Yes, you're right. But while commuting in train people are giving me strange looks ... ;-)
