WilliamK wrote:Guys, could some MAC users give me a hand testing those latest files? I did some updates and it should run without problems. For me I had to install the Wusik 4000 Data folder into the Applications folder so it could run. So far I couldn't figure out why my Alias code did not work. (creating an alias for the Wusik 4000 Data folder along the .vst or .component files) In any event, the VST runs on eXT MAC version but I couldn't figure out a free way to test the AU. (I don't have Garageband installed)
You should install GB. Besides being free, it's what Apple advise to test AUs on. bear in mind, though, that it is now sandboxed. If you are not an Apple recognized developer, you may have some trouble with it. Logic X and MainStage are not yet sandboxed, but I heard they will soon.
I will try to find some time to give it a try with the public beta, although I'm not that interested in Wusik 4000.

App Store. It's where you have to go to download it. The shortcut should be in the dock (the bar in the base of the desktop, where you have the icons to launch applications).

Ahhhh, the new App Store, duh, thank you, I'm a Windows user so it takes me a while to get around. :dog:

Yes, I don't like it either, but now you no longer have an installer. You install applications directly from App Store. Even the newest OS (Mavericks) was upgraded that way. I was frightened before, so I backed up the entire HD to an external drive (using Carbon Copy Cloner - a must for any Mac user). Only after that did I upgrade the OS. Fortunately, everything went smoothly, but I still have my backup, which happens to be a bootable system, so... just in case.

tested it in MainStage, and it crashed validation. So, it will crash Logic Pro X too (and GB even more). It crashed Logic pro 9 too (32-bit). So, AU is a no go, for the moment.
I have a report, will try to send it to you by e-mail, or PM (if PM allows all that text).

tested VST in Reaper. It works, makes sound, but I have severe issues with screen redrawing when I tried to resize the plug-in window. And the patch description is loaded with the patches, and remains in front of the patch until we click on it - should vanish after 10 seconds or so.
Will try it in Digital Performer and Cubase next, but seems like this is far from Beta, more an Alpha.

Thanks for the tests. Yes, it is an early beta, but I wouldn't say alpha, still, thanks for testing.

I still need to test more here to check what's happening, I will see if I can get Reaper working to test more too. So far I only tested with eXT MAC...

OK, you can PM me when you have something ready, and I'll test it briefly. BTW - DP doesn't load it (I am using AU, so, no wonder). Cubase 7 loads and Wusik plays. Instrument windows is bigger by default than what was in Reaper, and I had no redraw issues. Just those annoying messages, and the popup menu opening each time I click in the work window (should keep the popup menu adressed to the right button).
Also, the proper place for the Data folder would Library:Application Support, IMO. Application directory is a weird place for it.

Are you totally sure that the AU version doesn't work for you? I just tested here with GB and it works without problems, and another user also tested with GB without problems.

February 07 2014 - Beta Version B0024

- New Module Feature: Sound Generator -> Single OSC and Dual OSC -> PWM now modulates all waveforms (including Random) with a pulse width (kinda like the Alpha Juno does).
A note: presets that uses the Double OSC may need some tweaking if you are using different waveforms due to the PWM changes.

I didn't tested it in GB (I don't use it, TBH). I tested it with the latest version of MainStage (which uses the same audio engine as Logic Pro X), and with Logic Pro 9 and Digital Performer 8. None of them validated the plug-in. Check the report I sent to you. So, it's not a matter of it doesn't work - it simply is not activated in the first place, due to the validation crash.
Take note that I'm using Mavericks. It can make a difference.

Thanks bud. What is the validation? Something I need to do that I'm not doing? I will investigate...

Before running, applications check if there are new plug-ins installed, and when there are, a routine called "auval" (I think that's the name), runs, to check if the plug-in is prone to crash. When the routine crashes, the plug-in is not validated, and therefore does not appear in the list. We can force it, but it's not advisable, of course.
I think all hosts do that, except that for VST each host implements it's own test routines, I guess.
