sylenth1 - spire or - khs one?

ive been looking to get a really good simple va thats easy to program and ive found these three. i can only get one but i don't know witch would be the best choice

sylenth1 has a good reputation and a ton of presets but it also doesnt seem be be getting developed and there are never any sales for it.makes me think the developer has just left the scene.

spire looks and sounds amazing but its also the same price as sylenth1 and is newer but people say its extremely good,also i should say im more of a trance guy and i hear it has good unison

khs one looks really nice to me because its super simple to program and is only 99$
and i think it sounds pretty good too,but it doesn't have all the features the other two (especially spire) have,even though i find myself leaning for it because of how simple and cheap it is

still im not sure what i should get?? any help would be appreciated

You should demo them all, and then decide which one suits you the most.

If you're not dead set on spending money, you could take a look at some great freebies. Tyrell N6, Charlatan, Synth1, the amazing Crystal, TAL Elek7ro come to mind. You won't be making (m)any compromises sound-wise with these, they are all great.

I would definitely get Spire. It has a very bright future and also capable of many more different sounds. Spire gets way deeper than Sylenth, although Sylenth does have a slightly fuller/hyped sound for what it CAN do. I wouldn't mess around with Sylenth though, it's not worth it. Do yourself a favor and get Spire.
As for khs... i've never tried it so I can't compare.

kHs ONE and Sylenth1 are both easy on the CPU, so if you don't have a newer/modern PC, I wouldn't get Spire as it's more cpu hungry.

Older CPU - Sylenth1 and maybe even Vanguard
New CPU - Sylenth1, Vanguard, Synthmaster2.5, Spire.

For both Zebra is very capable and has some lovely presets and version 3 is possibly! out this year.

Do look at Discovery Pro some great sounds and presets.

Dont forget anything can be routed through other plugins for filtering, eq, compression, sound mangling and sculpturing.

ie sonlaksis filter. TheDrop (still in beta and can be high cpu but not desperately so,) Vengeance.

You may want to consider Nexus and some expansion packs (not my choice) but very good.

Or save you pennies up, experiment with freebies and get a Virus or if too much a Novation!

I own Spire and i'm thinking of getting Sylenth1 also, mainly just for compatibility with sharing projects and remixes. But it does seem very efficient for the sound it has.

+1 i also own spire and think about sylenth just because ecerybody has it to talk about it and to follow tutorials

But there are a few options depending on your DAW As you can read in the article:

"Recently we receive a lot of questions about how to run Sylenth1 in 64bit hosts on OSX, such as the new Logic X and Ableton Live 9. We are still working on a 64bit version of Sylenth1 and we're hoping to get it done in the first half of 2014. Until then there are a few options to run Sylenth1 in these hosts. You can find an example walkthrough here.

For Ableton Live it is recommended to use the 32bit version of Live to run Sylenth1. If you still need the 64bit version, you can use JBridge to run Sylenth1. "

Well as an OSX user, I think it's not worth it because the developer really doesn't care about 64 support, let alone any further updates to the plugin. You could argue that there isn't anything "wrong" with Sylenth and I could agree with you but we're in the year 2014 and personally I am disappointed when comparing features to other newer synths like Spire. I wanted to love Sylenth so badly because of it's amazing raw sound, I thought it had the best sound for many years, and it did. Spire, however, managed to meet the unbeatable sound of Sylenth and offer way more features at the cost of higher cpu usage. I still think Sylenth currently holds the record for cpu optimization but the Spire 1.1 optimization upgrade, which is due in the Summer, will basically set its cpu usage the same as Sylenth. At that point Spire will officially beat Sylenth to the curb... and thats based off Sylenths current rate of devlopment. It will be a while until Spire ever sees a community size that of Sylenth with all the presets and youtube tutorials though and if you see yourself benefitting from having Sylenth for compatibility/convenience with project sharing than so be it - everyone is still going to be using it for a looooong time.

Great post. As you said, it will take a while until Spiee is as famous as sylenth months, years...

But the developers are ambitious, look at 1.0.10 update. Great features adedd!
