I;'m just figuring if you load patches frm v1, you'll get a bunch of warnings - ignore - then try to tweak it to sound correctly, right?
I did that with Zebralette.....

Was just programming a patch in another synth and thought of a feature that would be cool, basically it is just a user interface thing: Assuming I am not the only one who considers Cutoff and Resonance key parameters and often switches back and forth between the two, I suggest an integrated knob for both, a big cutoff and within that a smaller concentric resonance knob (in Dune 1 the cutoff knob is already bigger than the resonance knob). When you put your mouse on it you can drag in an imaginary xy coordinate system where horizontal is cutoff and vertical resonance. So you can close your eyes and drag the mouse around till it sounds right, changing both parameters at the same time :)

Oh, don't know that one :) Yes, like that, but without the pad...

No, you cant load V1 patches into V2, for many reasons. Users will have to accept they are 2 diff synths. V1 still works, you dont lose anything. They can both be installed and used at the same time in the same song if you wish to.

Is there by any chance a vibrato section added? I was messing around with Ultra Analog and was quite impressed with there vibrato section, even at maximum settings it still sounded very playable. I'm sure you could say to just send lfo to pitch or fine cents to mod matrix but sometimes it not so easy to find a 'sweet spot' and maximum settings here of course wouldn't acheive something playable. In short a focused and 'elegant' fine tunning in this area would be much appreciated. ie apply same principle to resonance filter to vibrato where maximum settings would sound awful and only the sweet spots are 'cropped' into synth.

Oh yes, that's a brilliant feature way too few synths have... (or i just haven't figured out how to do it, like on z3ta, where you can right click on the oscialltor tabs) Makes working with it so much easier.
Yep. All copy functions we have so far (currently envelopes and FX settings) work both across patches, and across instances. So you can e.g. copy a graphical envelope from one instance to another. :)

Is Antidote based on the same sound engine as Dune but cut down for Re?

Post

Hi Richard, are you thinking the release date will more likely be in march?

As i understand it, Antidote was an off-shoot of Dune 2 research/developement. Some elements of the code are in Dune 2, either adapted or improved. Rich can obviously clarify.

Most likely yes, provided beta testing and sound design is completed until then.

Yes that is correct :)

Will it have a built-in compressor? Dune 1 did not, but I think it would make sense to have a built-in compressor because its ideal settings depend so much on the individual patch, so it would be cool to be able to save compressor settings along with the patch :)

Post

yes we have a compressor

We? 8)

Basically, Dune is very similar to Sylenth, with the compressor even more so :) And the price is also about the same...

Is there?

Dunno why synths have fx at all....i use diff fx to tailor a sound to fit in a track....compressors are a big no anyway for me. I guess its just for making presets sound 'good' straight out of the box. Luckily you can turn them off.
