I see what you mean. I saw this when I recently did 5 tracks with EZD and Tracktion for an album. I did the same thing you did--tugged the right edge to fill out the measure. Note, however, that no information is missing from the apparently shorter clip; it just stops after the last MIDI note.
This was only a concern for me when looping the same clip; once I lengthened the clip, looping was simple, as was copy/pasting, and I never ended up with short bars or extra beats. When putting different clips next to each other, all you really have to worry about is making sure that the second one has its left edge at the start of a bar. That way, even if there is a gap between the two (because the first clip is short), everything is still in time.
But I agree; ideally you shouldn't have to worry about that; when you drop in a 2-bar clip, it should fill up 2 bars without having to be tweaked. Funny, it never occurred to me that it might be a Tracktion weirdness rather than an EZD one. I guess it should have!

In that case, I've reason to believe you aren't using the latest T5 - I'm sure I fixed the problem of not seeing tiny notes already. (and yes, tested with EZD)bobmartinmusic wrote:Here’s a clip with 16 Hi Hat hits falling short of the bar. It’s not EDZ, it works fine in Reaper, where the MIDI also shows up as diamonds, still can’t see/find the MIDI in T5..

Latest T5? The website lists 5.1.0 as the latest, and the changelog identifies it as the initial release....or are there beta's in the wild?jrlanglois wrote:In that case, I've reason to believe you aren't using the latest T5 - I'm sure I fixed the problem of not seeing tiny notes already. I'd probably lean towards it being a T5 bug since this doesn't happen in Reaper (my main DAW) and Cubase.rlindsey0 wrote:Not sure that is a T5 bug. I think that has to do with how EzD supplies its loops. They don't all fill out the measures IME.TonySwe wrote:This happens to me too.fedexnman wrote:Bugs 2 things .
EZdrummer , dragging midi clip from EZ to the edit does not not fill the Bar , you have to drag the clip arrow to the right to fill the Bar still ...
Also, when I copied a one bar midi clip I did myself a number of times, some of the clips ended up with an added beat, making it longer and not aligning with the bars.
This, however, hasn't happened in the last few days.

I assume you have scrolled the piano roll?bobmartinmusic wrote:Here’s a clip with 16 Hi Hat hits falling short of the bar. It’s not EDZ, it works fine in Reaper, where the MIDI also shows up as diamonds, still can’t see/find the MIDI in T5..
Try to expand the track, I sometimes have to do that to see the notes too...
How the notes are presented is a DAW thing, maybe T5 doesn't have the option of showing midi notes as diamonds?
At first I thought I'd miss the diamonds when programming the drums, but it works really well with the rectangular shapes in T5 since you can adjust the size of them.

I think that Reaper, which has had a lot of stick for the lack of attention to MIDI, has got it pretty much got it right now. There’s been a hint that the "short clip" is going to be sorted in the next version.
Also, a problem has been that the EZD midi info has been invisible, because the hits are only 1 tick long.
How Reaper does it.

FR - a pause function in the transport. I could swear that T4 would pause the transport if you held the control (or shift) while you clicked on the stop button on the transport.
I want to have the play head cursor to return to the last position stopped and a pause function... is there any way to d this with T5?

Can you put the clock back as in earlier T versions ?
It will be usefull as we know get full sreen and mac clock is therefore hidden.

Okay, that's disconcerting. Two complete 'user interface disappears but the process is left hanging and unkillable unless the system is restarted' crashes in less than twenty minutes.
First one happened when I tried to enable a Launchpad as a MIDi device for input while a project was open.
Second one happened when I tried to manually set the length of a MIDI note (to 312 ticks).

An idiot on Set Theory:

If you get a crash, don't bother explaining on KVR - send us a log file! That's the only way we can possibly do anything about it!whyterabbyt wrote:Okay, that's disconcerting. If the process is unkillable, that always means that a driver has gone awol - there's nothing an app can do to stop you killing the process, only a broken driver can do that.. which unfortunately is rarely something we can fix.

Having difficulty rendering an edit to MP3. T5 acts like its rendering fine... says render complete... all looks good. When I go to get the file it's not there. I checked and 2x checked the location in settings. I've checked the location of the LAME file and the folder pointer in the settings tab.
Here is the name of the file from the MP3 render: .Back In My Arms Again Edit 1 Export 2_temp6031f8c2_tempdcf6a5bc.trkaudio
Along a similar line, when I render a .wav file, it's volume is elevated and distorted, even though the master out fader is at -14dB and there are no overs.
EDIT UPDATE: It seems that if I have the normalize radio button selected, everything is fine. Do others find the the Normalize must be set on to render an edit to .wav with a proper volume level?
I'm using a PC core2duo with Windows XP Home and SP3.
I'm stumped... any ideas?
