Arturia are doing some really nice things on the hardware front, especially that beatstep controller, but I think it would be good idea to get a V4 of those emulation synths going.fmr wrote:Arturia Jupiter-8V is also a very accurate model of the original (although some people don't like it). The only thing I have against it is the control panel, where the editing part is too small to allow programming comfortably at modern resolutions.electro wrote: Between TAL and XILS, some great Roland analogs are already done. D50 is the digital Roland synth to do like Korg's Legacy and some digital FX like the DEP and SRV.
And we have the modules in DIVA too (including the digital oscillators). Roland took too much time, and I'm afraid they are too late to the party.
But the MKS line has some gems that could be interesting, if they do them properly. I would be interested in a complete MKS rack, for example. And the D-50 (maybe complemented with the JD-990) too, of course.

Had to think of him, tooENV1 wrote:So they finally hired Patrick Kunz?

But I don't think so, to the contrary I suppose they might be envious of Korg's software success and thus want to cash in on the authenticity bonus of the Roland brand...
If there really are to be almost perfect Roland emulations, I almost feel sorry for Patrick, he invested so much time and energy in his emulations...

Additional plugins like the SH-101 should be then available in "Plug-Out" mode.

You can even switch between the SYSTEM-1’s internal sounds and those of the hosted plug-in
System-1 is a standalone synth (could host VSTs) that could be also used as VST. Seems to be also possible to create patches in the VSt on you computer and then store the patches in the hardware to use it standalone. More comparable to Origin or hardware plugin players (e.g. Receptor) than to Analog Lab i guess.osiris wrote:First let me state I have nothing but respect and love for Roland.
But, leave it to them to build a $3000(you know that's what it will cost) synth that you can twiddle the knobs around in a VST. The System 1 keyboard looks, in concept to be like the Arturia Analog Lab, except the different synths will be 'VST" (all sold seperately )on your computer running out through this controller keyboard.
The price will be around $800 for the system 1 synth.osiris wrote:First let me state I have nothing but respect and love for Roland.

I own one of those Edirol controllers that got dead key problemHaganeSteel wrote:Not to mention, Roland released them under the Edirol name instead of Roland, which didn't help.
