Plug-in Delay Compensation in Tracktion - help.

Vokator has a delay in processing audio depending on the number of FFT bands - does Tracktion compensate for this automatically and know how much compensation is required? as Vokator can change the amout of the delay if it is run at 1024/512 bands etc.
Does Vokator inform Tracktion of the amount of compensation required?
What about using the SIR reverb - or the UAD card?
Does PDC really work - are there any pitfalls?

PDC works, but if you use racks things are less clear cut.

PDC works as an insert perfectly. And if you route tracks to another track to create a group, then put the effect on that track it also works well. PDC within a rackfilter also works well if the chain is simple, meaning 1 or 2 plug-ins in a row. But each rack adds its own latency so if you have more than say 2 rackfilters as sends one after the other, it will create a slight delay even if PDC is working. The best way to use plugs with PDC is to use them as inserts or groups IMHO.

Thanks.
Perhaps it would be helpful if Traction 2 flagged up a warning to say PDC will have not work after x number of plug-ins in a rack?
Anyway I'll stick to using delay inducing plugs only as inserts or as a single instance in a rackfilter i.e SIR as a reverb send

Yeah I agree with you. Hopefully Jules can fix some of the latency problems with racks in T2. And theres always freeze. Although I like using the new "render and add track" feature instead of freeze personally cuz I can adjust volume etc.strav100 wrote:Thanks.
