On the topic of bugs, are Visual Studio crash dumps of any use to the Devs?

No, completely useless! Please don't send us any of those!

If there was a log of this specific instance I would send it but the only log seems to be cumulative so is huge and I have no idea where this crash can be found in it. Would be better if there was a dated/timestamped log for each crash

The tracktion logs are never more than 1MB in size, so there's no reason why you can't just stick it in an email and send it to us.

If you mess about trying to edit out just the crash dump from the log, then you're probably going to remove some other useful info that we need, so the best + easiest plan is just to send us the whole thing.

Camel Audio Alchemy is blacklisted by Tracktion. Does not initialise correctly ...

Have you tried v5.2.1? Is that the VST or VST3 or AU? Mac or PC? Latest version of Alchemy? Come on guys, help us out here when you're reporting a bug, we're not psychic!

Some plugins dont report their latency right.
Would be nice to manually set the latency compensation for each plugin.

As soon as an rack is placed on several tracks a latency of 46.44ms is reported to Tracktion while there is now latency at all.

Step Sequence Clips:
Can't have just one channel in the Step Sequence Clip. After restarting Tracktion it adds another channel ...

No groove template with Step Sequence Clip??
Would like to have it separately for every channel ...
Also per channel time shifting. So it sounds always miliseconds earlier or later.
Would also be possible with a groove template but dedicated sliders seems better for the workflow.

Velocity with each step?!

Novation SL 61 MK II can´t be mapped as control surface.
Automap Midi -> no communication
Automap HUI -> all sliders, knobs and buttons etc. recognized as Midi #47 ??
The internal template from the SL is working for Studio One and Ableton Live, so that seems to be ok.

This leaves T5 unusable for me, as I don´t want to control it with the trackpad and keyboard of my Mac.

Update!

Finally I got this damn thing working.
My misunderstanding has been that the MCU protocol is the same as HUI, but that seems to be wrong.
Because of this the Novation HUI template does not work with T5.

First I took the standard MIDI template from Novation and created a new control surface with Automap MIDI and teached all knobs, sliders and faders in the control mappings editor.
You have to disable the mapping for the Modwheel, otherwise it doesn´t work as controller for your playback.

Now I finally have a working template for 8 tracks including transport functions (transport button of the SL has to be turned off!) and volume, arm, solo, mute, pan for each track.
Master volume and pan is mapped to the X/Y pad.

I left out the endless rotary knobs, so these are still available as MIDI CC 21 to 28.

Me too , also onesmallclue poise as well.....a possible clue to why ? These 2 plugins have shortcuts to data and libraries on another hdd ... the plugin scanning sees this and acts crazy . I think its something like a libsend-1dll error

Rendering a midi vst track doesn't work. "Didn't find any audio to render." The tracks play fine in the project, and they render fine as part of the mix when I export the song. The instruments I'm currently using on a couple tracks are from Kontakt 4. This error message occurs when i try to render the individual track in place or as a new track.

Still getting easily replicatable poof crashes when I sequentially audition multiple wave audio clips from the left hand file browser (not loops). As before, Mac OSX mavericks, all the 16/44 wave clips are in my Documents folder linked through by the Tracktion file tree. Whether T5 is playing or not, after between 2 and ten auditioned wave files Tracktion poofs every time.

Halionsonic now loads and plays in T5.2.2 Yay! Thanks TCS dudes

Halion 5 still crashes though (surprised at that as they are essentially different versions of the same plugin core)
