I used to play this figure on my old Farfisa, but never got around to working out the timing properly, until about a week ago, when I dragged this 10year old riff into C21st...
So, who can get the Time Sig(s) of the central figure? It is complicated in execution, but has a simple denouement...
I can offer no prize, save for the respect and admiration of your fellow KVRer's! [unless someone fancies donating a prize.. at the mo it's just a bit of fun]
Buff Envelope
Several Synth1s, with mda epiano, 4Front GSyn and Loopazoid, with tobybear Mixbox and Classic Reverb all in Podium. Then TSledge and TLSMax.
Some of the melodic parts over the top follow more standard meters, just to put you off. And there IS a bar of 4/4 where the epiano plays a figure on it's own. Also each of the pauses is 4/4 (it just ended up sounding better that way).
I'll post the result in about a week, if no-one's got it.
Enjoy!

Well ... basically it's all 4/4 with some different emphasis and accents though ... and it doesn't start on the 'one' ... and the breaks are set strangly ... and
...
Here is a short snippet of the theme with a simple 4/4 beat:

Hehe ... i won't count all these odd starting points of the other instruments during the intro ... pretty arbitrary just to confuse the poor listener.duncanparsons wrote:..not so fast!
Basically there, but..
Where are the accents then?

When the drums come in it all makes more sense imo.

If not 4/4, it must be 8/8?

Hi Duncan
just to tell that it seems that messages from France are slower, because I've posted my response before yours...
appearing after you, I don't want you to think that I'm reappraising your time signature

Over before I had a chance to listen to it, but I still must say it's quite a fine tune!
