Was EZDrummer clip truncating bug fixed in T5?

Grateful thanks for any help, evaluating purchasing T5 and wondered if the issue with EZDrummer clips being truncated(at about last 1/8 beat) has been fixed in Tracktion 5?

This is one of my very few frustrations with T4; dragging a drum groove from EZD does not result in a full measure clip, plus I find it very difficult to accurately drag the groove clip right on the tail of the last clip dragged in?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not sure about the clip truncation thing, I'll check when I get a chance.

You might want to look under the "Snapping" menu, and enable "Snap clips to neighbours", if I've understood your second issue properly?

Not when I last looked. I've made a few requests about this, it seems that a lot of EZD user don't use the loops, so maybe not enough BR'S have been generated. I use Reaper and then copy into Tracktion, not ideal.

Thats not it, because you'll be snapping to a truncated part. All the EZD MIDI clips are coming out too short.

Then why not use the regular snapping feature? I just went through this with 5 songs on a CD. Presumably, if you're using MIDI loops, you're tracking to a firm tempo, which means you will be following the bar lines. Even if one clip is a little bit short, you can still drag the following clip over to where its *left* edge will snap to the proper bar line. Even if there's a visible gap at the end of a clip, no drum hits are lost; all that matters is whether the clips start at the right places.

If you want to loop a truncated clip, just pull its right edge until it fills out the full 2 bars (or 4 or whatever) and then loop it as many times as you want. .

Because I've been using EZD on Traction 2 and 3 Logic and Reaper, and this is the first time it hasn't worked properly. I don't want the hassle of having to check each and every clip ending before dragging it out.

Having to expand each dragged in clip for a 200+ measure song could be a real pain...

Again, you don't have to do that. It's not necessary, because these clips are not missing information; the truncated bit is blank. At least it always has been in my experience. It's true, this should be fixed, but you guys are making it harder than it needs to be.

All you have to do is make sure the left-hand edge of each clip is where it's supposed to be; it doesn't matter where the right-hand part ends as long as you're not missing any hits. For dissimilar clips, snapping is your friend--but look at the LEFT edges of the clips, not the right. For looped instances of a single clip, just expand it before you loop it (or copy it). Once you do that, everything works right.

Again, not ideal, but easier than you guys are suggesting.

Yes, I get that. I was telling him how to solve his second issue, not all his issues.

FWIW, I've logged the clip being too short as a bug, and also the midi notes in the clip appearing as 2m/s long, which is another issue.

Looks like dragging midi clips from EZDrummer to Tracktion works properlynow in 5.2.4

I've had a go, clips I've tried dragging now loop at the nearest barline after the last note in the clip. Result
