Is MS2013 available in 64-bit native for Windows? Also, could the 12GB library be loaded into Independence Free to run on another host?

Oh well, still, for twenty bucks it seems worth it.
I did go for the physical product hoping the 12GB would be shipped though. That's just too much to download with my ISP download limits.
And while it appears the VSTs are VSTs and should be able to be used in any host, at least the host is rewire, so one way or the other, it looks like I could get some use out of it.
And according to the specs, it is 64/32b and able to run on win7/win8.

MS2013 is 32-bit only.

the library, once registered, should run in Independence Free. When I get the chance, I will try and see if it works in Best Service Engine.

Vandal SE appears to be locked to Samplitude also; in fact, all the VST effects are (including the tape sim, which is a shame) except AM|Track.

I guess I misread it.
Under the specs it says :
Supported operating systems
Microsoft® Windows® 8 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Microsoft® Windows® 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Microsoft® Windows® Vista© (32-bit and 64-bit)
Microsoft® Windows® XP (32-bit)

I thought this implied it was both 32/64bit

you can run it just fine on a 64-bit OS, but it's a 32-bit app and plugins.

Man, thought long and hard about this one today, but to be honest, there's just too many if, but, maybe's, even for 20 bucks.

Don't blame you.

In my email, I asked them to choose between giving me a separate key for Independence Basic or just a refund since the product page is deceptive. How they deal with the situation will pretty much decide whether I ever buy any Magix product again.

Still no updates from Magix for Independence PRO since 2012.
Magix only provide custom patches and don't want to make new release.

To put that in perspective, Sample Tank 2 got released back in 2003/4, ten years later Sample Tank 3 still not released :D

So 2012 is pretty recently looking at it like that ;)

This deal, it is 20 bucks, you get what you pay for. It should appeal to those who are new to music making and just want to get started with the basics, and also people like me who already got lots of DAWs but like to toy around with a new one nevertheless 8)

Have you tried to extract the Indy installer file with for example universal extractor to see what it contains?

Be warned that the Magix download is sloooooooooooooooow

4 and a half hours after starting downloading the Indy library, only half of it has come down, and I'm on a pretty fast net now :(

Almost 2 hours to download a giga byte and a half, that's not very magic....

Do you think it might be possible to find the license file within the installer. Anything short of that would mean, we will have no access to any future updates since they are already giving an older version within Samplitude.

True.

I was just thinking that inside the installer it might be possible to find the regular Indy Basic installer that would let us install it so it could be used in any DAW...
