2.01 solutions for basic MIDI needs?

I've had the latest OS on my Receptor 2 PRO for a couple of months now, but I'm having some trouble with some MIDI things that seem simple.

1) Enabling and/or disabling volume changes with an expression pedal. I'd like to be able to say, defeat the expression changing volume for Ivory II, but enable it for M-Tron.

2) Assign controls to unpublished plug-ins. This is possible in Mixer mode, but not Rack mode. Are there any other options?

Previously I was able to do this with NI's Kore hardware/software, but I'm struggling with this otherwise better Rack mode.

Hi Tom

Are you using expression or using volume? 2.0.1 supports volume, and you can learn or unlearn that parameter per synth by visiting the MIDI MIXER page in the SETUP menu.

Regarding assigning controls to unpublished plug-ins, by definition an unpublished plugin parameter is not learnable, because that parameter is not published.

What would be really helpful (for all of us) is to mention specific plugins and I'll see what I can do to investigate / post suggestions / solutions / workarounds…

Re volume: both my Nord Stage 88 Classic and Novation Impulse 61 send expression at a fixed CC 11, and the Receptor volume CC is 7. Ivory II does not let me disable that CC 11. My workaround is to use the organ swell pedal input on the Nord (a second expression pedal input and separate MIDI CC) and MIDI learn the volume of the other instruments. I crossfade with the 2 pedals, but it sure would be nice to use one and assign it.

A happy accident I've discovered with unpublished parameters: I had assigned a parameter in Mixer Mode for AMProSoloVST. When I open that plugin in Rack Mode, that parameter (Brilliance) is automatically the first assignable parameter knob in Rack Mode. Nice!

Sounds a little about what I found about using my Fcb1010 programmer to straighten out some issues for my rig.

Tonewheeltom,

You have ProSoloVST running on a receptor? I have been unable to get it to install on my VIP (I get a DLL signing error). How did you do it?

Thanks,
Bill

No I don't have that on my receptor, I did have a .dll recognition error on the Oboe and Alto saxophone on Sample modeling's SWAM Engine Double Reed and Saxophone sets. I sent installation logs to the developer after which he corrected an issue in the dlls' and sent replacements that I copied to the plugins folder and ran the refresh utility. That solved the issue. I was referring to midi learning working with my FCB101 programmer software to change some midi parameters related to the control pedals.
Dan Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.
