Hello everyone!

One thing I can't figure out:

Controlling reason synths through rewire. I can *play* the reason synths, but the knobs on my oxygen 8 that I usually use for midi remoting in reason are somehow unassignable when using reason through rewire. Is there any way of doing this? The funny thing is: the knobs do actually control some random synth parameters, but I can't assign them to specific functions the way I can when running reason by itself.

Help? Thanks :)

In your Reason folder there should be a .PDF file outlying what each synth's controls are. Set up your Oxy-8 to send out the CC values of the controls you'd like to adjust. Bingo fact, done.

Also, make sure that in the Reason Sequencing Window, you don't have the 'MIDI' icon by any of the tracks or else you'll get doubled velocity hits and other random shit.

You have to slightly adapt the way you work to make the best use of it. You see because tracktion has its paws on your MIDI in, if you assign that to remote in reason, reason will not like it (you'll get a red X rather than a lovely green tick).

The reason you are getting 'random' changes to random devices is because reason is using its default MIDI CC numbers which you just happen to have your controller set up for - and its in here that the solution lays.

Check the Reason manual for the full CC listings for all the reason devices and set up your remote to transmit these CC's straight throught tracktion and onto reason. That should do ya, but you'll probably need to set up a bunch of presets so that you can quickly flick between them. In fact, doesnt the Oxy8 come with a full stock of reason presets? I think it does...

Ah, nice, that should help.
I'll check if I really have those presets somewhere, that would make life a lot easier.

Thanks a lot :)

Just bought Tracktion :) Lovely.

Ok, got it sorted out.

It does work. You just have to select the keyboard as midi remote in the reason options. That didn't occur to me, because that option panel was always locked with all the other rewire hosts I previously used, so I didn't think about looking there at all.

Well anyway, it works wonderfully. Sorry to have bothered you.
