Hi

OK... i've got a couple of questions about using Reason with Tracktion. I spent a good few hours experimenting with the demo last night, but still have to figure these things out:

1) Can Tracktion's sequencer record controller changes.....ie. can i record a Reason synth complete with filter sweep (via a controller knob) in a track on Tracktion, and if so, how?

2) Can you have a bunch of instruments connected to a mixer in Reason, and then record each instrument on an independent track in Tracktion? (So as to minimise the number of Reason reverb units that have to be created....ie. make use of the mixer's auxilliaries)

3)Can Tracktion record Reason as AUDIO directly? Rather than doing rendering of MIDI tracks.

4)Is there any use in having the Reason sequencer and Tracktion synchronised and both being used together. Or am i right in thinking Tracktion will only render what's in it's own tracks?

Cheers

1. you have to select the right parameters to automate by dragging the little "a" onto the reason plug, then picking from the list. you can then edit the automation by hand or use your knobs and sliders from your midi controller. make sure you dont have the midi highlighted in reason by making sure the little midi plug in reasons sequencer is gone.

2. i dont think so, since the mixer only has a pair of stereo outs(i think, its been a while since ive used the mixer in reason). for indivual instruments to seperate tracks, you have to utilize the indivual rewire chanells.

3. not that im aware of

4.Traktion will only render whats in in tracks, but, you can can work in reasons sequencer, put a blank midi clip in T's sequncer on the track with the reason plug in question, then it will render it to audio. I use both all the time for the matrixes as importing the files that get created with matrix, often come out wrong once imported to T.

Thanks a lot for that.
