EBU R-128 or the K-System v2 (which is based upon the EBU R-128 meters) at reasonable loudness (K-16) is the future, and will be inforced with Loudness Normalisation Schemes in media players and also in the future with hardware and portable devices.

It's dying regardless.

I do understand the "need" for a limiter that doesn't distort if pushed too hard. But people don't even care for or properly know how to use the K-System. Rather abuse it even (K-12 constantly driven to the red area! K-12 was initially for broadcast only, and recommended to be dropped completely in favor for K-14 and K-20).


Advertising with "how Psychoacoustics helps better to increase loudness" is actually counter productive IMO.
