You should be able to create randomish LFO by chaining up a bunch of them and modulating the Depth of the last one?
Yes, that's what I do, but it gets even faster by that ;-)

True.

The only work around I can think of at the moment would be to put the whole track into a new project, tempo sync the LFOs and drop the tempo of that project down to something rediculously slow.

i have one more... ;)
it shows you the delay (latency) on each track...

Quick reply from a Linux user. I'm just getting into the program's organization, everything is nicely arranged and accessible, makes learning easier for me. Performance is fine on my TurionX2-powered laptop, an oldie but goodie. I'm running Bitwig with JACK, getting a few xruns but I'm only using the internal HDA sound for now. I'm sure I can further optimize performance. Haven't tried any external controllers, just playing with beat-matching various files for now, nothing but basic learner's stuff.

So far it seems to me that the devs did their homework and have delivered a solid polished product. Btw, I'm running it on Fedora 19 x86_64, with Planet CCRMA audio optimizations.

Looking forward to learning more about Bitwig and its possibilities for my existing workflow.

Best,

dp

Absolutely love the hardware integration. My stuff is syncing perfectly! This is a huge plus for me.

Hi,

That's my favorite topic :)
Because it's a real pleasure to dive in Bitwig Studio.

What a huge work, on so many details, to finally make such a well designed application.
Very good design. Very clever :tu:

I'm going on testing it, and I will take some time.
So far, the more I test and understand it, the more it becomes a serious choice.

Wanted to add this:

The Package Manager is actually well done. After installing all the bundled stuff from the DVD, I switched the source to "online" and was offered to grab the packages that had been updated since the DVDs were pressed. The nice part is that it only downloaded files (within the packages) that actually changed, not the entire archives again. Probably not a biggie for most people, but with rather limited internet in my area I've come to appreciate software that uses my connection and bandwidth sensibly. :)

It''s also very easy to add and remove packages, and a plus that I can install them to a destination of my choice, regardless of where the program and the settings live. Small stuff, no doubt, but not as common or standard in the Windows world as one could believe.

Yeah, the custom location for the library was a long standing FR from me and one of the last things that actually made it into the software when otherwise there was a feature-stop before release. ;-)

I was sure this would make a lot of people happy, not just me ;-)

I hate how Live makes you download a 1.7GB installer for Live 8 these days...

Cheers,

Tom

I love the UI and the whole program has a good feel to it, which is very important to me.

I agree with giving Bitwig the benefit of doubt; let's hope -for us noobs especially, that is- they'll eventually make it. I'd love to start with a clean sheet as it comes to mixing and the feedback it generates on forums like this one. If only they had delivered a fully functional demo or more diversion as it comes to its price. Why not a basic version released as well? Oh.. snap! *sings* "you can't always get.. what you wa-ant.."

Clips on sends. No more mucking around with dummy audio clips.

The network download speed is good. Updates can be quickly downloaded :tu:

Hotplugging for usb midi devices while the app is running and refresh button for audio drivers!
Might not work with every single driver and product out there, but boy, this is so priceless, esp. on stage (unplugged you controller while rocking it? happy restart!) or while testing different setups...

The things I love with Bitwig studio:
- Clean user interface with dark theme (I love it)
- As a noob, I could make sense with the workflow.
- It run on Linux (pro and home system).
- It worked out of the box with my audio sound devide (Komplete Audio 6)
- the team seems to listen the customers.
- The device and effects concept andimplementation.

Keep up the good work Bitwig!
I hope that plugins provider will notice us, linux users, and port plugins (yeah, ok, might wait for a loooong time).
