A few things bothering me about the midi editor:

Notes should sound when they are entered and selected when audition is on
Double click + drag should allow you to enter a note of whatever length you want with the pointer tool, since right now you cannot choose length and double-click drag does nothing.
Notes getting selected when you press a piano key is getting in my way, there is no way to audition that note without messing up your selection if you have notes there.

And also the way "double content" works is really bugging me, it deselects the clip and stops it from playing, as if it were replacing the clip with a new one. This is really annoying since I use double content as a normal part of editing. Say I'm working on a drum clip in the luancher and I realize I want it to be two bars long with a variation in the second bar; I want to be able to double it and do the edit without stopping and starting. Does that really bug anyone else? Would be cool if this could be addressed fairly soon.

obviously I'd like to see grouping happening, and when that does, I'd like to see the ability of grouping groups :)

MIdi to sample in drummachine... and double click to rename the pad.. sorrry if already mentioned.

Not sure if it makes sense to post that here, but anyway - here are my key points missing:

· multichannel midi/audio support for vst
· internal multichannel midi and audio routing (like there is device for external routing)
these are absolutely essential - without these bitwig is unusable for my workflow

· global state snapsoots/or saved undo states (like Kapture for Ableton)
very important

· midi message filters/parameter remapping
key zone and velocity filtering with smooth fades and in/out zones are essential, other midi data filtering and parameter remapping are important, but probably could wait a little as bitwig offers unified modulation

Otherwise Bitwig is nice and I really like lots of things. Sadly missing key points make it unusable for me - it is like having Porsche with most powerful engine and top notch finish and specification, but without gearbox to transmit the torque to the exclusive alloy wheels.... still can enjoy towing it .... maybe :/

I'd like to resize track width.
Sometimes you want to type a longer clip name and using current narrow tracks I can't see longer track/clip names.

They work on that! https://twitter.com/Bitwig/status/450606414013423616

The main thing I'd like to see is Bitwig's equivalent of Logic's "capture last take as recording" which is recording your midi input even when the record button hasn't been pressed. I realise this isn't for everyone but to me it's the best thing in Logic's workflow. 9 times out of 10 if I'm recording, say, a piano part I'll be improvising first without pressing record and these initial "noodles" turn out to be musically better than if I'd have interrupted the creative flow to press record and thus been more self conscious about a doing a proper take! Sounds silly but so often in music the spontaneous things are the best and this is a great way to capture that.

Thanks, it is good to know, that this is on the table, although it is not very clear how far/deep Bitwig is going to push in this direction - i mean midi or audio or both, output only or input as well.

BTW, can you comment is it possible to map parameters to PC keyboard like it is possible in Ableton - it is very useful sometimes when working with laptop without midi controller attached to have this ability. And also is it possible to midi map midi loop in Bitwig to midi note events so that midi loop gets transposed to received midi key (midi loop clip works like step sequencer) - yet anoter nice little feature from Ableton.

I'd like to see the sampler improved - Mainly a playhead marker moving through the sample and should moving the start position move the start position marker on the display? And shouldn't moving the loop length adjust the loop markers? I don't really understand why there is no correlation between the position knobs and the markers shown on the waveform.

Yeah that is so weird. I think I'd prefer to just get rid of those redundant knobs altogether and just use the markers. Maybe the knobs are there just so you can modulate them though? Back during the beta Thomas was talking about how he asked them to allow sample start and some other stuff to be modulated so maybe that's how they did it, adding those knobs that work by themselves. I think my preferred solution would be to allow the lfo routing to work directly on the markers and come up with a display for that, then you could actually see the range you were modulating over on the waveform and you wouldn't need redundant knobs. Very neat and cool display that way. But barring that the knobs should match up with the markers because it's pretty confusing that it doesn't do that now.

I'd like to see the FM synth improved. Honestly it has nothing on Operator. Operator is such a beats especially with its self-oscillating filter with key tracking capabilities. Can get really nice movement with that thing.
