Well, I find the flippancy to be in rather poor taste.
Obviously, the ComboV's disappearance from the limelight is not because of some April Fool gag, but because of some serious legal matter. Also obviously, Tale doesn't feel free to comment on it officially. Since he has been tending ComboF and ComboV as his babies, his silence now must have a reason.
I can only deplore the fact that, as he's added on the ComboV download page: This is a legacy product, which means it is no longer supported or maintained., ComboV now seems to be a blind alley. Not that it's lacking in any way – on the contrary, it's a superior instrument in its field.
However, should it eventually be incompatible with a future OS, that would apparently be the end of the road.
Meanwhile, we can still download ComboV in its current (and final?) version from: martinic.com/combov/downloads/
Thank you, Tale, for creating ComboV! The original was one of the first instruments I yearned to own when I was 17 years old (but couldn't afford on a weekly allowance, of course). To be quite honest, I think that I was mainly attracted by its übercool looks – 'negative' coloured keyboard and that chrome 'Z' stand. At that time, it was played by now world famous ABBA member Benny Andersson, no less.
Kind regards,
Joachim

A big "Thank You!" to Tale for all his hard work on that plugin. It is a shame that he got into such trouble with it. Especially, as he did not intend to rip anybody off, but rather invested all his time for a free plugin.
I hope he can somehow settle the case, and also that finally we will get some more information on what really happened.
It would be a shame if he really had to drop the development. Depending on the problem, maybe it can be re-released with a different name and a modified GUI, with little or no resemblance to the original product. Another idea might be to release it as open source project. In fact, there are the vox and vox300 emulations in the bristol project (http://bristol.sourceforge.net/vox.html). I know that they don't reach the level of the ComboV, but they don't seem to be affected by any legal problems.

I think you're right realmarco that it would most likely be a buy out. After all who would spend big dollars on a commercial version if there's an amazing free version out there that's just as good? I don't think it's likely to have been a trademark infringement cease and desist. All Tale would've needed to do in that case would be to slap on a new GUI and put it back out there looking a little less like the Vox Continental. Whatever the case it's all speculation until the developer tells us what, if anything, went down.
Unfortunately I didn't download it a few months ago, so I've missed it. I've made sure to download the Combo F in case it disappears

Ah, thanks for that
. I did copy and paste the link you provided originally Spitfire31, but for some reason the URL kept changing to the Combo F page after I hit enter, so I thought that the page you were referring to had also been taken down. The link is working now though, so maybe I missed a letter in the copy and paste or something. Downloaded now. Thanks again.
