List of VST issues in need of attention

One thing for me is that the plugin list just mirrors the directory structure so it's cumbersome especially because instruments and effects are lumped together and there are also 2 separate lists if you have both 32/64bit plugins.

Personally I really like what Reaper does. Different lists for instruments and effects, a list for recently used plugins, and the best thing is you can make as many sub-lists for organizing them as you want (Reverbs, Guitar, Mastering, UAD, Waves etc.).

There's also a nice right click context menu for bridging, firewalling and troubleshooting options.

Obviously there are bigger fish to fry at the moment, but some improvements here would be welcomed very much. :tu:

Some nice improvements came along with 1.04 for VSTs, so I've updated the list. Some things have been changed but could still be improved and I've added a couple new issues as well.

Keep up the good work!

Did you check "Plug-in Windows Follow Current Track" in the Options menu?

Thank you!

Apparently you also can't drag and drop within a VST interface either, like dragging Kontakt midi/automation assignments onto it's own interface.

Feel free to add anything here and I'll add to the first post. Maybe it will help having the VST related issues consolidated in a list.

Some have reported VST settings/presets are not being stored with the project, as described here:

Now in v1.05 it's not possible to change preset bank in VSTs that rely on DAW in preset handling.
Such as OBXD, Tone2 Firebird.

Because it's not possible to open a bank, it's not possible to use presets from those banks either.

Out of curiosity how was this done before 1.05? I haven't come across any way to load fxb in bitwig. I've barely used OBXD but I'll admit that i didn't see how to load presets.

I didn't mean it was possible to do in earlier versions. Just that in 1.05 this still is a problem.

In Ableton Live there are small buttons for each instrument that allow you to load and save banks and presets.

I see. Added to the list.

Updated to reflect a couple issues fixed with 1.06. :)

Although it introduced a couple new ones: VST window shows up in the bottom left now and esc no longer closes it. Hopefully these are addressed before the final release.

Looks like you can drag things within a plug-in interface again (like midi/auto assignments in Kontakt) as of 1.06. And you can also drag samples from the browser to a VST. Still can't from clips/arrangement regions though.
