In daw mode i often work with 44khz to save cpu. When rendering, i switch to 24bit / 96 khz. Just want to make sure that pdc will not break when using high frequencies...glitter&trauma wrote:nope, its 100% accurate. theres 6x more info than needed there, were talking plugin latency at 44.1. Not 176 or 192. Not TDM. Use your eyesCableChannel wrote:Waves list their latencies here:

This list differs quite a lot from that posted a few posts above.

ok fair enough, no problem i was just trying to keep it concise for the good of the thread.
but upsampling what you already have on export isnt going to make it any better, just going to increase file size. the only thing i can see it affecting is FM synths. And i believe those synths are zero latency?

PSP MixPak latency is listed in the manual:
- MixBass 256 samples
- MixPressor 0-25 samples, depending on the process
- MixTreble 256 samples if Hiss Removal is engaged, 0 samples otherwise

This is partly valid for audio tracks (but will provide increased headroom for summing) but not for midi tracks using non samplebased instruments..glitter&trauma wrote:ok fair enough, no problem i was just trying to keep it concise for the good of the thread.![]()

96/24 will definitely give you better quality overall here.
Sorry for this offtopic stuff here. Dom, feel free to "clean up"

Nebula 3 - 16512 samples (configurable)
Note that with Nebula it's perfectly normal have multiple instances in series, to create a multiband EQ for example.

Can someone help me diagnose if this is a PDC or a bus issue:
I am trying to do sidechaining using a plugin called Kickstart which can be set up to listen to a midi note and duck it's channel's signal when its triggered. I have all my synths routed to an effect track which I have kickstart on to duck everything with the drums. So I convert this track into a hybrid track so I could place MIDI on it so it will trigger the Kickstart plugin to duck the track. There is a really long delay. The Midi is placed in the correct spot but the actual ducking occurs way after. Does this sound like a PDC issue or a bussing issue or both?
(Let me know if I should be posting this somewhere else)

I think this: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 9&t=407716 is the right thread.mrmatt wrote:Can someone help me diagnose if this is a PDC or a bus issue:

It does NOT match the Waves list, use YOUR eyes before making stupid comments. You state Maserati GRP is reportet 1, there is no samplerate/pluginversion for which Waves state this value.glitter&trauma wrote:nope, its 100% accurate. theres 6x more info than needed there, were talking plugin latency at 44.1. Semi Off Topic (kinda):
This thread has been educational for me. I've always assumed that native DAW PDC was unlimited, dynamic, and would resource and compensate for whatever value was necessary, even values way beyond any reasonable real world practical value.
To test that I loaded 45 stereo Waves multi band comps on a channel in another product. It reports having a latency of 80 ms in that product's performance list at 44.1 so the total value was 3.6 seconds or 3600 ms. It's obviously not reasonable to wait 3.6 seconds every time you hit the transport but everything lined up on a realtime print.
I'd always assumed that stuff was dynamic and unlimited in all of native, the max value any PDC would or could compensate for. I suppose that assumption was wrong, that in some products it's capped at what would be a good bit more than a reasonable value that anyone might actually ever hit?
