Bug/FR: Rack filter window is always on the front. Troublesome with a large window and
opening filters from it for editing.
FR: Would also like to have multiple layers for complex routing. Rack in a rack ...
FR: Unlimited marcro sliders for a rack. Now we have only one slide for a filter.
Make a presetsystem for the slider settings.
FR: When resizing racks leave the filter at the place on the screen. Not relative to the size of the rack.
And maybe a zoom function if you want more visible.

Have you tried v5.2.1? Is that the VST or VST3 or AU? Mac or PC? Latest version of Alchemy? Come on guys, help us out here when you're reporting a bug, we're not psychic!
Latest version of Tracktion and with the free Alchemy player VST2.4 on Windows.
(I thought it might be a common problem with Alchemy, will be more specific next time

I have a couple of bugs to report for Tracktion 5.2.2 running under Ubuntu 12.04.4 with KDE 4.12.3 (KXStudio x64).
The first arises when opening project files. If the user is running Tracktion under KDE and they have kdialog installed (which is contained within the 'kde-baseapps-bin' package under Ubuntu and Debian) then Tracktion tries to use kdialog to provide the file dialog. When you try and open a project file via the Tracktion kdialog file chooser, first the user may not even see the file dialog because it doesn't get focus and so is hidden behind the Tracktion window but even when you do try and use it to open a project it fails with an error like:
"Couldn't load the project file
<PATH TO PROJECT>::connect: No such signal"
There are two workarounds for this. One is to uninstall kde-baseapps-bin (kdialog) so that Tracktion falls back to using its native JUCE file dialog (which works fine) or alternatively you can start Tracktion from the terminal and load the project by specifying the path to the project file after the Tracktion command.
Secondly, inserting the Obxd-vst plugin from the KXStudio repos onto a track causes Tracktion to freeze. Obxd-vst works fine under qtractor.

Same problem here. During the plugin-scan of Alchemy Player a small dialog window appears where you are asked to choose the data path for Alchemy. But the window vanished too quickly while I was clicking through the folders. Even if I hurry up and reach the correct folder I get a short message window talking about a "valid folder" and then it's already gone. Don't know what happens here but afterwards Alchemy Player is red and blacklisted in the plugin list.Erwin78 wrote:Erwin78 wrote:Camel Audio Alchemy is blacklisted by Tracktion. No luck on my machine windows 7 x64. 5.2.4 Poise and Alchemy both Fail . So I have to go the 5.1.0 route and plugin scan then re do the 5.2.4 install , my rollback workaround then roll forward and dont scan the plugins .crisis-at-music wrote:Same problem here. Finally got T5. Getting my projects set up. Why does moving a project around open every single folder? It's maddening. Makes it hard to do any organizing if your view constantly switches from useful to useless with every drag and drop.
For example, under Active projects I have 5 subfolders. If a song gets saved into the base Active Projects folder and I want to move it into subfolder #4 it will do that, but all 5 subfolders open up and I'm left looking at all the songs in the first few subfolders - depending on how many songs are in each, of course.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

In Linux I have noticed a few bugs:
FR: LV2 support please please please!
- the plugin scanner doesn't work very well for me at all. I am unable to add new locations (I accidentally removed two of the default vst locations so I'm stuck with ~/.vst only), I click the add button but nothing happens. Dragging and dropping vst binaries in to the list doesn't work at all for me, Tracktion freezes for a while and the plugin does not get added.
- the plugin scan itself seems to sometimes freeze when scanning. I haven't really noticed a pattern to it, sometimes it works and sometimes not. If I open up the binary from my Downloads folder it scans as it should, then I reopen the binary I have in /usr/bin and everything works, the newly scanned plugins are listed. Maybe a permissions problem or something?
- some plugin guis are frozen occasionally when opening them, you cannot move any dials or do anything in the gui. Closing the gui and reopening it solves the problem. Again, I haven't really seen a pattern it doesn't do it for all vsts and doesn't do it all the time either.
- ladspa plugin gui is not great, you're not able to define specific values and the sliders act strangely, you drag them all the way to the right and the max is often a different value each time and not the actual max of the parameter, plus it is very difficult to get an exact value by dragging them (I know you can use a modifier to change in smaller increments but still not ideal or precise enough). The ability to right or double click to enter a particular value would make them much more usable

I'm not sure if anyone else has reported this, but I installed 5.2.4, and noticed MIDI notes become progressively longer and eventually smear together by the end of every MIDI clip I record. I hadn't noticed this before.

Thanks guys, I've sorted the MIDI note length bug now. Will be in the next release.
