I'd been going to my pub for three years. They used to have a jug of beer waiting, poured and ready to go on the counter. One day, I'd had a shave just for the hell of it...I walked in and grabbed the jug and was immediately accosted... They didn't believe it was me... I was asked to produce ID etc...I was 23...
These days people ask me I'd I need a wheelchair.

OK, serious answer:

1 desktop PC, 1 laptop PC, 1 MacBook Air
Virus TI2, Kurzweil PC3X, DSI Mopho X4, Novation Remote SL mkII 61, Maschine v1
2 basses (G&L, Cort Curbow fretless), 1 Yamaha acoustic guitar
MOTU 828mkII, Yamaha HS80Ms + sub, PreSonus headphone amp HP60
Focusrite ISA Two, SSL Xlogic Alpha Channel, Drawmer DL241, FMR RNC, iConnect MIDI2
Mojave MA201 FET, Shure SM7B, some cheaper condensers
Too many heapdhones - BD DT800s, AKG K701s, Senn HD280s (x2), some cheaper Senns,...
Sonar, PT11, Logic Pro X, Studio One v2
No idea how many plugins - Sonar says 408 VSTs IIRC, but that includes multiple versions of Waves plugins, also have AAXs and AUs; my guess is <100 commercial plugins, the rest bundled

Degrees in music theory/composition, aquatic biological and toxicology; sit on my ass in an office all day while chops go to hell and arthritis sets in, post on KVR etc, go home to family and try to scrape up the energy to make music after the gym, routine chores are done and the wife/son go bed, sometimes successful, but usually start an idea just before I run out of energy. Rinse and repeat the next day.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I guess I'm kind of lucky I havn't aged faster physically which is odd considering the amount of drinking and crazy shit I've done. I used to be a pretty bad smoker when i was around 19 to 21 too. I guess I should'nt complain too much..

No, I make my living as a scientist. Sorry for the confusion. I used to make my living as a gigging musician, sound/light tech, etc. But, those days are long behind me. Music is just my hobby now and, quite frankly, I like it that way, even if I don't have nearly enough time to do it.

Kids do that to one. They grow up...admittedly they still live with you when they're 25 but they can carry things that you'd rather not :-)

Science is good stuff and I respect the people who have the brains for it. Also awesome that you got degrees in music composition! I often wish i had the time to go to the local music conservatory so i could get more serious with piano.

My university I will be going to has a jazz studies program that i wish i could get into. I have no formal musical background except a few lessons here and there and self-education stuff.
