I'm the pathetic annoying git who has nothing better to do than point out that the guy who starts the “describe yourself” topic mostly describes his kit.
Ok then. A complete waste of space and resources, good for nothing and good at nothing. His father has a couple of mathematics degrees but never could add up a golf scorecard. His mother would be pushing up daisies except that what's left of her was poured over a rose garden. His brother hasn't been machine-gunned despite all expectations. His sister started a life of crime but didn't like the hours. She became a corporate executive instead. (Personally, I'm not sure there's a difference).
His wife is a doc who saves and improves lives. He is the owner of two cats, neither of which will speak to him because he isn't exactly a cat because he can't lick his own bits.
His two sons (aged 25 & 18) live at home because they have their own Xbox/ps3/PC and therefore have no need of girls (except for mum who does the cooking and laundry when she isn't busy saving lives and crap)
His preferred method of gardening is via bulldozer which is a shame because he hasn't got one.
He used to play golf, sail, ski, ride motorcycles and change light bulbs until a 44 tonne truck parked on top of him and took all the excitement away.
He has very old qualifications in audio engineering/ cinematography and other more recent and useful qualifications in plumbing, draining, gas fitting and remedial massage that he doesn't use because a 44 tonne truck parked on top of him and took all the excitement away. His restricted electrical licence ran out five days ago and he wonders if she will ever realise the error of her ways, change polarity and come back.
He was once described as as 'annoying little shit' which is a bit weird because he thought he was bigger.
Currently spends his time either horizontal or seated in his chair on an electric blanket hoping to wet himself and get it all over with. He occasionally has Forrest Gump moments only with not as much money or chocolate.
He doesn't drink water because it spoils his whisky.
He is open to answering questions as long as the answers aren't important or have anything to do with blood.
Did not discover girls until he was 23 whereupon he discovered two at once.
He was slightly surprised.
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

5'9" 183lbs (which is probably about 10lbs heavier than I should be...), blue eyes, brown/gray hair.

British accent but lived in the US for a long time.

1 wife, 1 daugher.

Music stuff owned:

Telecaster, 6 string Epiphone acoustic, Squier P bass special, mandolin, 5 string banjo, violin, alto sax, Bb trumpet, concert flute, dizi, bansuri, tin whistle, recorder, chromatic harmonica, some diatonic harmonicas, desktop PC, laptop, 81 key controller, mini controller, lots of software that I'm not going to list.

Huge CD collection, huge book collection.

Probably forgot a ton of stuff that I'll remember later that I should have added.

Im an immortal, I think.
Ive been around for like 400+ years or so, and Im kind of bored tbh.

I partied for like two or three hundred years, piled up money for like a hundred years, and now Im just lost.
Im alone and I dont care about shit. I observe the absurdity of the modern age, mostly.
Had to stop doing drugs so I dont end up crazy.
Had to stop doing women because they suck, and they die.

These computational contraptions are great though!
Can do all kinds of shit!
Keeps me entertained...

I used to think death would be preferable to living, but i've changed my mind since. I have complete freedom.. no matter how crazy it is to go and do whatever my heart desires. So with that said I might just go to the amazon and look for gold, or work up the nerve to hit on really hot women even though i know i'll get rejected.. i mean why the f**k not right?

sometimes it's great to just appreciate life for what it is. Sooner or later we will die and since i follow the evolutionists i understand there is nothing after this life.. so i may as well just live life to the fullest now while i can.

An existentialist flibbertigibbet who learned responsibility because he had to.

Discovered the existentialist bit when working in a psych hospital after leaving school. Pretty well lived by it all my adult life.

Not sure if I was a natural flibbertigibbet, but working in a highly female dominated profession and mixing with the few males who were mostly gay, I couldn't really help it. I am happily confirmed in my metrosexuality. For years (before we got it together) my wife gave up on me cos she was sure I was gay. Hehehe...

Learned responsibility cos I wouldn't stay married if I didn't.

Just about to turn 50 and also just about to sell the house, give up the job, move way North with no job confirmed. We may still even go to Aussie. Who knows where the **** we'll end up. Doing whatever. Quite excited by it rather than worried.

The rest of me may have gone to the dogs, but I've still got a great arse. Look great in tailored pants. I've discovered a penchant for 3/4 length silk jackets recently too. Which cover my arse, so I should probably wear shorter jackets.

As for music gear - I'm a traditionalist, strangely. Much prefer h/w analogue.

Describe yourself.
Funny, I was just asked this at a job interview.
Right as we sat down, bam. Plain as that.
I was stunned for a minute.
"Im a hard working go-getter, with attention to detail, and an eye on the big picture, Sir!" :tu:

They were nice, smart people though, so that was cool.

More buttons to push! :hyper: :wheee:
