I am using tracktion's midi sequencer to drive my Yamaha RM1X hardware sequencer. What want to do is save the midi sequence (.mid) from tracktion to a floppy and load it onto my RM1X.

the Problem: I can export the edit to a .mid file (I think using the "export as a single midi file "option...) and load it on my RM1X just fine, but when I play the loaded sequence, all of the tracks have collapsed into track 1 (which in this case makes my whole sequence into a single crazy drum track.)

So somehow between my PC and the RM1X my track data seems to get munched...does tracktion's .mid export preserve track info? (do .mid files even have track info?)

Thanks for any help!

Found this in another post...
...I have noticed problems making midi files with Tracktion since the last bug fix version.
Tracktion now puts all of the midi tracks into one track when you export midi. It did not used to do that.

I think the bug fix for a different midi problem created new midi problems.

I posted about this a few weeks ago but practically no one seemed to care....
so it looks like a tracktion bug. fooey! hope it gets addressed soon.
