Good find!
The download is to v. 1.3.1, though, not the latest (last?) 1.3.3.
While 1.3.3 was a minor tweak, 1.3.2 was more important soundwise (quote from Martinic's website):
"Version 1.3.3 (10 December 2013)
On reset turn all notes off and silence reverb and cab.
[Mac OS X] Fixed load/save MIDI map and tuning.
[Mac OS X] Fixed font loading on Mac OS X 10.9.
Version 1.3.2 (2 October 2013)
Added extend bass range and 8′-16′ bass switches.
Improved bass voice attack/release transients.
Improved reverb sound.
Improved guitar cabinet simulation resampling quality.
Improved plug-in parameter labelling.
Added tooltips in GUI.
Increased precision of reverb knob.
Highlight MIDI learnable controls.
Automatically (dis)arm clear MIDI map button.
Cancel MIDI learn on panic attack.
Improved GUI automation behaviour.
Improved Scala scale file import when base frequency is out of range.
[Mac OS X] Slightly improved overall CPU use.
[Windows] Fixed enter key clearing selected text on keyboard input."

I would imagine that Theo Niessink, a.k.a. Tale (i.e. the dev himself), knows. But as you've noticed, he's not making any comments.
Personally, I'd guess (without actually knowing anything, mind you) that http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/pro ... intro.html might have something to do with it. I assume that it would be a hard sell with the free Combo V around.
Anyway, Combo V is a mature product and it is available if you know where to look. That's it.

Good for Theo to have this commercial success, and good for us cheapskates who can still download his original version!
Kind regards,
Joachim
