I like synths like charlatan, gtg 44 s , tal bassline.
All simple synths that take you back to the past.
The problem I have is that neither of them is exactly what I'm looking for.
Charlatan, has lfo sync, gtg 2 lfo's and tal bassline a build in arp.
So I wonder, does someone know a good vst synth from the past that fits my criteria?
maybe something that is posted in the blast from the past topic, but without pictures it will take me forever to find one.
Maybe somthing pre 2005?

There's Lallapallooza Lite from buzzrom:

But it doesn't seem to be available anymore. I suggest that you ask from it on the old plugs from the past thread. It a pretty good synth.

What about Synth1?
Or try Oatmeal, it's pretty usable with the Limeflavour GUI, it has 2 OSC, sync-able LFO and a nice arpeggiator:

but you're mentioning other synths criteria and not specifying which ones exactly you're looking for in the synth you may like. Anyway +1 for Oatmeal, much versatile.

Yes, that one should meet your criterias, and have the sound you're looking for, when you mention Charlatan and Bassline. No built in arp though, but this one is for free and very good: http://www.kvraudio.com/product/kirnu-by-kirnu/detailsSendy wrote:TAL Noisemaker.

I hate the preset system of synth1 , I rather word with the fxp/fxb format.
Oatmeal is not simple enough and I dislike the sound, dont know why.
Tal elektro has issues ( overstack error or something in reaper )
Noisemaker has a too different sound .
The criteria I'm looking for:
simple oldschool looking gui , preferable size of the first three I mentioned
2/3 oscillators
poly , does not have to be 64
oldschool flavor/modelled sound
2 lfo's ,arp, delay , both syncable to the host
low cpu
no synthmaker, synthedit is ok.
The synths I already tried and came close
Synth1
gtg series
charlatan
tal series , also the payware demo's
asynth
elektro studio synths
all pretty close but still not the golden ticket for me

Dig sites like VST4free or Gersic and you'll find plenty.

No idea, what are your criteria? Are we supposed to guess? Or is it irrelevant because everyone is just going to list their favourite synths anyway and no one ever actually reads the OP in these threads?K82 wrote:So I wonder, does someone know a good vst synth from the past that fits my criteria?
Edit: I see you've since listed your criteria since I opened this thread.

Whatever your criteria are, my favourite oldschool plugin synth is Arguru Voyager (especially with the "flavours of lime" skin)!
