Just starting to evaluate Bazille, can you tell me whether this alpha version does anything to stop you using it, like crackling etc, or is it just that it expires at the end of 2014?
Thanks,
Simon

This. There is also no guarantee sounds you create with the pre-release Bazille will sound identical in the released version. Best to bounce all audio to tracks if you use it in a mix.wintoid wrote:just that it expires at the end of 2014?
If the stars align for u-he Bazille may be released this year.

I want to get to understand FM well before diving into bazille.
I just finished reading 'the tao of FM':
http://www.dubbhism.com/search/label/tao%20of%20fm
Great intro, and makes clear that a (learning) FM synth should:
- display Ratio of freq between carrier and modulator
- have a setting for 'fixed' oscillator' (not tracking pitch)
He goes as far as saying that one should not use synths that do not have those features for FM.
- Is there any plans to display ratio in Bazille once the FM mod is plugged? Right now I have to do it in my head, and I agree with the author it's not ideal
- Is there a way to have a 'fixed' oscillator' (not tracking pitch)? (pretty sure there is)
Thanks

At the top of each Osc, is a menu. Default is semitones. Set it to Hertz and set the menu next to it which defaults to Cents to Multiply. Between the two of them you can go from 0hz to 1200hzurlwolf wrote: - Is there a way to have a 'fixed' oscillator' (not tracking pitch)? (pretty sure there is)

If you want to go higher than that, you can use to +5v modulator to go up to about 20khz

I've gott version 2002 and it shows up. Click on the top of the oscilator where it says "semitone".urlwolf wrote:Thanks Howard, but on my version (2002) I don't see oscillator mode "Overtone" anywhere. More precisely, where?
What we really need is this functionality in Zebra!
