SampleTank SampleTank 3

Bitwig appear to have been too ambitious, under-estimated
the needs of beta-testing, and are now working hard to meet
the many customer demands. Hope the lesson was well learned,
and that Sampletank will err on over-testing, and even take
way way...waaayyyyyy too long, but then deliver a version that works,
with maximum quality, and minimal bug reports.
(In bitwigs defence, if you are a self financed startup,
when the cashbox finally goes dry, you just discovered,
'Hey guys, it's release day!' :hihi:
and then begins a new understanding of
''sudden death overtime' :scared:

I would need a ticket number in order to do have someone look at your situation, donato. Note that transfer is typically an automated process, but if there are special conditions that need to be met, it should be more than realistic an expectation that this will not happen instantly. I apologize for any delay that may occurred but of course I am happy to look into it with a ticket number which can be sent directly to me via private message.

this question is for the non-ik multimedia reps...

it has been write that there will be no player available for ST 3 because the ST 3 samples/patches are connected/embedded into the app...

just curious... but wouldnt an if-than-else statement fix that problem?

i.e.

if only-player
then
perform only-player-routine
else
perform full-ST3-routine
endif

the peform only-player-routine... would bypass all the ST3 samples/patches stuff and just go to the import of Sampletank Powered Libraries routine... without addressing any ST3 samples/patches logic... in the only-player-routine there would be another if statement...

i.e.

if only-player
then
perform bypass-all-new-effects-routine (making only old effects available)
end-if

the logic behind this seems pretty simple... not sure why ik multimedia did not add this logic to ST 3... because... if the ST 3 routines are working and the Sampletank Powered Libraries routines are working... this change would be an afternoon worth of work... i.e. coding/testing...

p.s. i have experience working on AIX box with 16 nodes... using C, C++, Perl, Awk, Sed, store procedures, all UDB utilities, etc, etc, etc, you name it... it appears making ST 3 as a player would be pretty simple to do... an if statement would do the trick... because the logic should be there already... just saying!!!

Whether you like IK or not, that's the perfect response.

i almost thought it was an out of the blue announcement due to that other guy being on my ignore list :-)
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

i guess it depends on who you are... i work for the number one firm on Wall Street... i could not imagine quitting the number one firm on Wall Street for a job at ik mutlimedia... according to one of their reps... they do not even use a project plan... i believe the rep said something like (do not quote me!!)... "at ik multimedia we do it our own way... there is no need for a project plan"...

i prefer working for a firm who has magnitude and direction... with a long history of it!!!

take me off me off your ignore list for a minute (please do not forget to put me back on it, thank you :hihi: ) and read what i wrote... and without any "BIAS"... tell "us" if what i wrote (the post about making ST 3 into a player) makes any sense... from a logical point of view... and not a "BIAS" point of view...

OK?

Thanks.

Good to hear, guys.

Here is the SampleTank 3 PLAY page with the instruments list (plus Volume, Pan, Level Meter, and more). Notice the larger and more readable text, multicolor metering, which all make it easier to use while still familiar to SampleTank users:

This is the "Pop Rock Anthem" multi and "Dyno EP 1" is loaded in Part 3?

-- it looks like I switch from the Play / Instrument pic mode to the above view by clicking the [Info] button. Is that right?
-- can I see the output levels in numbers anywhere (on the Mix tab?
-- where do I route each instrument to an output pair?
-- once set up can I hide the Browser (to get longer Vol / Pan sliders)?
-- and what is that arrow on the F2 key showing me?
-- and that shopping basket in the top-right corner?

You will definitely see more on the MIX page, I will see when I can share more and what details I can get in there to satisfy these and other questions. The arrow on the F2 key indicates that you can play a pattern with that key, though, and the browser is not hideable at this point. The shopping basket is there, yes, but not for a Custom Shop version like T-RackS and AmpliTube though.

Today we have a SampleTank 3 Fretless Jazz Bass with the wonderful White 2A leveling amplifier effect added. You have slides and release noises (slides selected here) and this is a very "articulate" fretless bass sound as you can see and hear in this video:
