Nice new meter display in version 8 :tu:

But in MCompressor as an example, the gain reduction meter range is 40 dB and this could be nice to choose the dB range.
I think that 12 dB range is more appropriate for a mastering job.

Thanks

Thank you!

Anyway I'm afraid this won't be possible, the metering system is extremely complex with all the time graphs, axes etc. So we need to choose the range permanently. It took us quite a while, but at the end we came up with 40dB. But it's not a problem for you! You can simply make the interface bigger by resizing it! Or you can use time graphs and zoom in! ;)

OK but I would like to see more reference line.
Can you add a reference marker/line at -6dB and one at -12dB ? :tu:

As you mentioned the time graphs ;)

When you zoom in, an "appropriate" number of reference lines, with their values, would be a good idea on all the types of graphs in the plug-ins. That way we can more easily see what's going on.

I don't understand - I'm looking at time graphs zoomed in now and they units and axes are great - the exact ones I'd expect.

Here's a few quick ideas of what I meant:
-- intermediate dB levels on the time graphs
-- time units on the time graphs
-- intermediate lines and levels on the main graph
-- intermediate levels on the transformation Shape graph

PS: Set Default Settings may not include the 4 colours in the settings; I would prefer it if it did. At the moment a new instance of the FX loads with the default settings, and the last-selected colours.

Aaaah, that won't be possible I'm afraid. The choice of "nice" values is actually a pretty complicated process, the engine shows the main ones. No artificial intelligence yet :D.

About the colors - actually the colors for each plugin are set automatically by its type - equalizers have different colors than modulation plugins etc.

? I was referring to the 4 colours in the Style Configuration / Colour Settings window.

-- save the Default Settings for a plug-in,
-- change its 4 colours in the Style Configuration window,
-- load a new instance of the plug-in.
=> loaded with the new colours, not those used when the Default Settings were saved.

Well I prefer to use the normal meter, not the time graphs.
Right now it's hard to detect 3 dB of gain reduction on the meter.

Then switch to time-graph mode and there you can zoom in ;). And you can resize the plugin GUI if you need higher accuracy.
