Or is it?
I have a very problematic track with a sample of a cymbal in the Tracktion Sampler.
When I render my music (or just this track) it goes completely haywire with huge distortion –completely mucked up! Can't make it work.
Anyone had this behavioiur? Any clues?

Hmm, strange.. I have kind of a familiar problem with the T sampler, when a midi clip is looped, the first note in the clip, in my situasion a basic 4/4 kick, makes a much louder sound, but if I merge the clips, its okay.
This only happens on the first beat, on the very start of the clips.
It follows in the render too.
My 4/4 is like this: BANG!-bom-bom-bom-BANG!-bom-bom-bom

Does the track play properly otherwise?
I don't have any ideas in mind. Just trying to start sorting things out.
Yep! Only when rendered. Doesn't happen with anything else so far.

wierd. The sampler doesn't even know whether it's being rendered or not, so I don't see how it could behave differently.
Could it just be the output audio getting clipped/distorted? Does the bitdepth you're rendering at affect it?

In my situasion it happends if the clips have notes that goes further then from where youve made the cut, so it plays doubble notes, even when it shouldnt.
But the reason is that it plays the note, even if its outside the clipping.

It sounds like something like could be happening. The sound from the sampler WAS rather loud so I put it at a very low level. Rendering at 16 or 24 doesn't really make a difference.jules wrote:wierd. For now I have rewired and put the sample in the NN19 with very good results.

this might be wrong, but could there be a groove or some other kind of instruction telling it to hit the first note harder? Trying playing with the midi volume messages for that note!
