Trouble resizing clips

It seems that when I am zoomed in and I try to change the start or end of an audio clip (even if the cursor is right there) the whole project skips ahead to where I last stopped it. If I zoom out it stops. Bug?

Am I missing something? Do I not have something turned on? off? Thanks in advance

In the lower panel under options, check to see if " return cursor to start position" - or something like that - is selected.

Well, it's not stupid. It takes a while to learn all the features, as well as when good feature can turn into a problem.
