Exactly! Tricky, you want me to give you some form of price based on nothing. I don't even know if you are able to do the job. And as far as I remember from the times I was going to auditions, the "new guy" should come up with a price
. I also cannot promise you, I'm going to buy your style. It may be really bad! You'd be surprised, how many amateurs did some work for me. Usually people want something for free, or money, but they are not really willing to work...
Paying with licences is possible of course, for me definitely advantageous.

Well, a few years ago I even wrote many articles for "content.de" for - converted - 80 cent per hour. But now it's got so much worse that I gave up. A few years ago the main requirement was to integrate some key words but now they even give you a huge list with requirements for a pretty short article, and if you do everything which is required, in the end you get something like 40 cent per hour...elassi wrote:A'right then, Tricky.
Show some references and don't forget to mention your idea of payment.
I guarantee that there will be someone with (at least) equal or better skills doing it for less.
They call it 'globalism'.

As a German fellow you might know "myhammer.de". Craftsmen offering their work at this place must be real "behämmert". Just my point of view.

Understandable. But the problem is that I don't know how good the Style Editor is and how much the GUI could be changed TO THE BETTER without ruining everything.MeldaProduction wrote:Exactly! Definitely looks like much work, and if I invest a lot of time to learn the Style Editor, make a great GUI and then you don't want to compensate for it, then it's not worth the time...

You see, we cannot work together. Either I'd have to consent that I will buy whatever you create (if you actually create something), or you do some research on your own. Quite frankly I'm negatively surprised, because what did you really think? I don't remember any job, where the applicant (including me) wouldn't need to do some kind of research. You want me "hire you", not only without knowing you can do the job, but knowing that you don't know you can do that and you are not even able to download and check the style editor. That's the job for 10 minutes, which both of us could save if we didn't have this conversation... sad really

This must be a complete misunderstanding - I never wanted to be hired from you. (I'm a freelance texter/author, not a GUI designer.) I just asked which compensation you'd give - GENERALLY - for a good GUI to decide if it's worth for me to start with the Style Editor as it seems to be a lot of work and not only a few clicks...MeldaProduction wrote:You see, we cannot work together. Just a small hiccough with the Style Editor.
When I try to resize the window, the lower edge disappears underneath the Windows task bar. And I cannot drag the top edge so it is impossible to resize it again (here?).

Aaaah true, I usually use smaller style, so it fits my big screen
. I'll add it to to-do list, but low priority
.

Thank you.
Also:
(a) which Style does the Style Editor use? Can I change it to another one?

That's very encouraging. Thank you. Is there going to be an updated style editor released soon? With this new version changes, I am sure style editor will also go through some changes. No?MeldaProduction wrote:Yes of course!Come up with a really good style and I'll literally buy it from you
.
Everyone has different taste when it comes to UI. It will be big help if you can elaborate a bit on "really good style". Is there anything specific you have in mind, some examples of your favorites will be nice.
