Gene Simmon's voice cracking on the live version of "God Of Thunder" on KISS Alive II, when the band comes back in after the drum solo (on the word "I" in "I am the lord of the wasteland...").
And it sounds like his voice was doubled too, so double the pleasure.

Was one of the very first things I ever sampled.

The guitar solo and orchestral bits on "Motorcycle Emptiness" (one of the few guitar solos that I can actually abide incidentally).

The widdly moogy lead on "Sun Hits The Sky" by Supergrass - the song's crap though

multiple spots on the thomas dolby cd 'aliens ate my buick'...

- the intro to 'keys to her ferrari'
- the solo in 'airhead'
- vocal harmonies, bridge and 'murder' on 'my head is like a sieve'

among others

also, the ultimate rock "c'mon" scream on 'crybaby' by utopia.

also, countless sections of the jellyfish cd's 'bellybutton' and 'spilt milk'.

Wow, I'm amazed someone actually remembered "Aliens Ate My Buick". IMO a rather underrated album as it's simply brilliant.

My top three might however be:

- Lenny Kravitz, "Let Love Rule". After the sax solo there's one part when the usual chorus harmonies go I-III-IV instead of I-II-IV as before. In addition the choirs kick in massivly. Been listening to that part in a cycle for hours. Apart from being great per se it also teaches you a lot... (I mean, there's just ONE single chord that makes up for some sensation).

- Foo Fighters, end of "February Stars". The moment that additional guitar kicks in on the second repetitioon of the end chorus. Awsome! The whole tune is a killer anyways.

- FFF (French Fonck Federation), opening tune of "Free For Fever" when the band kicks in (shame on me, don't even remember the name, all I have left is an unlabelled tape). Amazingly unknown band, even forbidden in France (at least on radio), unfortunately not existing anymore. The two best concerts I've ever seen in my life were two FFF concerts. And I've seen a lot of concerts.

I could list TONS more, for me it has allways been about those special moments, rather than complete tunes.

But how bigs a bit? Some selections on the site seem to describe whole songs!?

Anyway. Pixies - Gouge away - right at the end - when he uses a major chord instead of the minor thats used throughout rest of song. I've got to "air guitar" that!
