Icons disappearing... knobs without reference... wha?!!

I'm experiencing this problem system wide, in all my hosts, 32-bit and 64-bit, with the new Melda 8.01 plugins: at first it looked like the round buttons lost their icons ("?", "_", "X", etc...) so I switched the display mode from sliders to knobs in the Edit mode to see if it would reset things, but then I saw the knobs had no position indicators on them. So I tried, reloading the project, restarting the hosts, tried other hosts and it's all the same now. This is on Windows 7-64.
This happened while I was working with MSpectral Dynamics, but then it turns out it's happening everywhere. Has anyone reported this? I'm going to try rebooting the computer to see if that makes a difference...

...and if I try to turn OFF GPU acceleration, the hosts crash on exit, and the 8.01 plugs reload with GPU acceleration ON.
If I try to un-instantiate the Melda plugin after disabling GPU acceleration, the hosts crash immediately, and on reload the GPU acceleration is ON.

This is what MDynamics currently looks like in all my hosts, 32 and 64 bit, since this afternoon:

The other Melda plugins are the same. I've found no such issues with other devs' plugins so far.

This is because you do NOT have the styles installed! Whatever you did, the styles are not there, so the engine used the styles from the version 7, which are simply different, so it loaded as many resources as it could, but it doesn't work of course.
Check this folder:
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\MeldaProduction\MTexturedStyles\
I'm pretty sure you will find "mrf" files there, but not "mstyle" files. So you need to reinstall it (under your account!)

Ok you're quite right, that folder only contains:MeldaProduction wrote:Whatever you did, the styles are not there, so the engine used the styles from the version 7, which are simply different, so it loaded as many resources as it could, but it doesn't work of course.

...which are obviously older files. But I have to claim innocence in the "Whatever you did" department because all I did was install 8.01 version of the Creative Suite and all the other separate plugins I own (which uninstalled their 7.x counterparts), and the plugins worked perfectly between their installation on 04-29 (all done concurrently) to the appearance of the problem on 05-02.
Note that this only happened specifically after I played with the styles of MSpectral Dynamics 8.01 on May 2nd. What could have caused the "mstyle" files to disappear? I went nowhere near the MTexturedStyles folder myself. MSpectralDynamics was the last plugin I installed, separately, a few hours later on 04-29.
Also, does this explain the crash when GFX is disabled?
So now: do I need to install ALL these plugins again to fix this (14 installs), or will installing one fix all the others?
Thanks!

It's going to be hard to find out what went wrong at this point. Anyway it would be just fine to install a single plugin, because all of them contain the styles. A little idea - is it possible, that you installed everything and then uninstalled one of them (v8) ? The uninstaller seems to destroy these directories! That shall be fixed!
And yes the compatibility with older styles is there "just in case", it could definitely crash.

BTW: it turned out that I had managed to disable GPU acceleration. When I enabled it, it crashed the host, but now it is enabled (checked) and everything seems fine. I'm not going to be playing with that again.
Thanks for the prompt support!

My pleasure
. Btw. it crashed right after you enabled it before you actually restarted it? Interesting, I think it could be the popup window, if you deleted the plugin then.
