From the manual:

Keytrack
The MIDI Note number becomes the source of modulation, relative to C0. This means low keys emit a low value while high keys emit a high value. This source can be used to make a patch key-dependent, for instance shorten the envelopes when pressing a higher key.

Freqtrack
Identical to keytrack, except that this source is based on the pitch of the MIDI key, rather than its note number.

Honestly, I don't get the difference. Can someone please explain it in other words? :?

I think the scaling is different.

Midi#60 is pitch 261
Midi#72 is pitch 522
Midi#84 is pitch 1044

so, one is linear, one is logarithmic.

Really awesome synth... now that I understood it better than the days before my testimonial gets better from hour to hour... :tu:

Even the GUI makes more sense the more you work on your own presets. ;)

Btw, while fiddling and charging the Mod-Matrix with assignments me grew an idea. How about a 'translate'-feature for the modwheel-assignments? It'd work like this:

a) You do your MW-assignments as you're used to (everyone should assign the MW to something, folks).
b) While moving the modwheel one may find a very 'sweet spot' where the sound comes across much better than with the 'original' preset layout.
c) At this point you hit the potential 'Translate' button and all affected modulation targets are set to the actual value.
d) At the same time the MW jumps back to zero because your patch/preset has been altered to the new 'sweet spot'.

Optional: You should then be able to decide whether to keep the MW-assignments (getting new results upon moving it, of course) -or- being asked to delete them to define them from scratch again.

To me it bears more control than the usual 'randomization' features we find here and then.

elassi, I LOVE your idea! Seriously, I have experienced it myself more often than not that playing with the modwheel at a certain setting it sounded better than the initial preset. Being able to make "snap shots" when the modwheel is for example half way, sounds like music to my ears! It would be an unique feature too (as far as I know, I might be mistaken though).

Yeah, you're right, "snap shots" is a much better expression for it! :)

I've experienced a few CPU hiccups, mainly with huge pads, but this thing is bass heaven. And for basses the CPU hit is negligible. The thing is, it usually takes a while to find a bass that fits a song. This song I'm doing now, I put DUNE on the bass track and found five right off the bat that sounded great and fit right in the mix. LOVE!!!
