Thank you for your time and again sorry if this is very basic knowledge.
Just out of interest - what sound card do you use?

Plus for what you are doing maybe cubase is not the best app - try something easy to get going with. there are a few free hosts that will do all that you need in a much more simple way I reckon - some sound cards come with free apps - worth looking into.

Sadly you judge too quickly.

I have bought and still own 3 versions of Cubase...from the little Goversion to the VSTi.

But it isnt my place to defend myself against people who have already made up their minds.

I came here and asked rather than look through the manual or the Help file because I was hoping for it to be explained in a simple and plain manner.,,,which it was.

Now all the people who have never downloaded anything illegal please stand and leave their chairs.

?...whats is that?....silence?

Glass houses and stones come to mind.

sadly my sound card is an old Creative Sound Blaster.

I know that Cubase has much more depth than many other tools but I have managed to create some interesting music in the past.

Sadly I have not had the time to contimue until recently and a chance for me to create some sounds for a 'small' project has come up..Cubase being able to do this seems the right choice as the music needs to be original as possible and not use too many sample snips from other peoples work.

i have noticed also that the helpful people who have posted in this thread are more than likely the better users of Cubase while others just seem to think because they have the knowledge to use the tool, they have some kind of god given talent...strange how their creations are not being heard internationally considering their arrogance.
======
I will again thank those who actually did what this forum is for and offered good information...to the 'talented' ignorant people...do worry, when you grow up more people than your Mother will here your offerings...and hate them as much as she does.

 a smiley for the children.

I still think Cubase is way over the top for occasional use – plus can take a long time to get anything reasonable out of it for a new or non experienced user (imho)

I personally use FL – Studio because it’s fast and powerful and ideal for small projects (not free but dead cheap for what it is) Some sound cards came with a limited version of it for free that could be inexpensively upgraded (not sure what the current status is on that though) I know other cards come with other apps too hence the question.

But if you can manage Cubase in the past I am sure you will pick it up again now.

Computer Music has CM Muzy thats free and easy plus Kristal would be worth a look too. my 2 cents

another 2 cents is if you start a thread polite - end it polite (just a tip)

How have you purchased and used three versions of cubase and never known how to export to wav? That's a little ridiculous. And where the hell did you get the idea, after three versions of cubase, that vst was an audio format?

Monsta,
If you re-read your first post, perhaps you will understand why it looks suspicious to so many. If you're legit, then I apologize.

agreed. you've had three versions of a music program and never exported a music file to wav? just curious now.

Yeah, I know I sound a little rude but this sort of stuff should be obvious years of experience.

But, I've been stupid about things before so I'll pass the floor to MonsterDog for a better explanation if he/she would.

Had Cubase for a number of years now but never really took/had the time to get into it in depth.

I manage and probably know very little but I think I can string a few things together.

Plus the most encouraging thing about Cubase is how widely it is used...for example..this helpful forum.

Well tried to come here and be honest and be polite.. however I found i was avoiding missiles for reasons unknown to me...it did seem that this place was just another one of those net forums that if your not 'up to scratch' with every new tool/file/information you were an idiot...so you were open to abuse.

I am not without blame here also...I reacted and may have made the situation worse...for this I ask for you to excuse me....after I will no doubt be back asking more 'simple' questions.

Your point about what to use is heard and understood..but from what I have seen Cubase seems to be very good and everybody has to learn sometime.

I should really ignore you...but for you sake peace i will explain.

I bought the cheap versions of Cubase over a year ago and never really used them....and then i was given a later more complexed version by a friend who had lost interest.

I am a boxing coach....you have had both your hands all your life..would you survive in my gym without proper training or advice and would you not seek answers as to why your face was bleeding a lot?...think about that one.

On further reading I have found comments throughout this forum that are against 'pirate' copies of samples etc...i was not aware that being ignorant of the way of the Cubase/VST meant that i stole my versions.

i am not sure if i am 'legit' infact it is doubtful that anybody who uses the internet is...to a degree.

I will again repeat that my reaction was as much to blame to any misunderstanding and hope this can end now.

p.s

How do i turn the damn thing on?

That's cool. We get heated at times at the abundance of warez users and over react at times. I'm sure you can understand.

Did you have any problems with your dongle?

Dongle...well I just searched for a reference to understanding what you meant...found one and it still made no sense

There was, however, a reference to a Dongel what seemed to be German and had something to do with breaking codes :?:

While i am here I will ask...the banks that are here for download...is there a guide to getting them...they dont seem to want open for me.

I have RAR but they seem not to get into my Interent Temp files..havent a clue.
