A legit copy of cubase – if there is one thing you will know of – it’s going to be the dongle – you can’t do anything with cubase without knowing about the dongle for sure.MonstaDog wrote:3D

Never heard of a dongel in my life..i am even having problems understanding how to download a bank from this site.
And if i did read about it at some point it probably made no sense so was not stored in my mind for further reference.
I can if you wish get my manual from the dust and look in there but I dont remeber seeing anything like that...even though it must have been over a year sinc ei looked at it.
This seems pointless if a person cannot come here and ask a question. Sorry if my knowledge of computers and VST is not up to your standards.
I am sure life will go on find for all of us.

Monsta...A dongle is a little plastic guy which is connected to your usb port and is required for Cubase to work. Steinberg have been using this mode of protection for years now...I think you may have blown off your foot. Sorry dude.

And why is that?
I loaded up Go originally and then removed it and my friend loaded up the later version claim it was better and what I would need and since he no longer had interest though it better I got his copy rather than buy another since i was using GO to learn.
Then that got removed because I never used it (beyond a few hours of messing around trying to get my keyboard/MIDI to work).
When signing up for this forum they should offer a written test so people can come here without fear of being ousted as some kind of super villain.
Not even sure why I am bothering to argue about this..all I wanted to know was some easy information.

My advice still stands – even more so than ever – really if your computer literacy is at this level, I think you would have far more fun and quicker results by trying some of the other products I mentioned – you can use the drop down box on the top right of this site for links to the hosts I mentioned – you will get results much faster.MonstaDog wrote:Never heard of a dongel in my life..i am even having problems understanding how to download a bank from this site.

Also what you are talking about is among the most basic of things – I think I will write a tutorial for the basics to help you and others that are just starting out, this I will post next week.
But I cannot help with software that has not been got by either a reputable retailer or direct from the developer - the fact you dont know of the dongle (it's a real bugger and you would have had problems - ones not to forget)

I will gladly leave here if anybody can prove that either GO or Cubase VSTi had a dongle or needed one.
Not sure if thats something you have in America but my copy was bought in the UK and one of them was given to me.
The reason i continue to argue the point is the fact that if i leave i will look guilty and if I stay I look guilty because of my lack of knowledge.
Sorry no Dongle came with my purchased GO or my given VSTi and they both work fine...and were even registered with SteinbergUK.

I can’t prove it myself and I do know of a version of Cubase that does not come with a dongle – that is supplied with sound cards. There is a version of Cubase that does not use a dongle either that I know of – being sold off cheap now at most music shops with bundles, basically not worth learning imo, and well worth trying my other suggestions for hosts. The later more advanced versions of cubase all use a dongle.MonstaDog wrote:I will gladly leave here if anybody can prove that either GO or Cubase VSTi had a dongle or needed one.

I apologise for not taking the first gut instinct that you are legit to its full conclusion.

ps use right click and save as for downloading the patches - save to a directory on your hard disk and un rar / un zip from there.

i will take your advice about the other tools.
But these/this version(s) I have are quite simple..but work with the free instruments that are used with the higher grade Cubase versions.
Now for my question again...anybody know why the banks here wont open into my Temp Net folder

Did you try turning on your computer first?MonstaDog wrote: Now for my question again...anybody know why the banks here wont open into my Temp Net folder
Don't expect a lot of empathy & assistance from us when you say you have 3 versions of Cubase & no dongle for ANY versions; how f**king stupid do you think we are here? Spe3d has been more than generous with you. You'll find others' attitude to warez useage here to close to zero-tolerance.
We speak frequently with developers here & have open communications on the products they make that WE pay for; coming in here asking how to use a cracked app is like pissing in thier living room.
Now kindly go f**k yourself.
Oh, & don't throw that 'everyone uses warez' bullshit on me, I have almost $4,000 in Digital audio reciepts this year ALONE. My HD is so clean you could f**king eat off it.
Later. much...

Do it's well worth the effort with these tools.MonstaDog wrote: i will take your advice about the other tools.
Yep! the low grade versions of cubase - a bit later had free vsti's and effects too. But limits to how many in one project at a timeMonstaDog wrote: But these/this version(s) I have are quite simple..but work with the free instruments that are used with the higher grade Cubase versions.
See my ps above - you should save to a directory other than the temp.MonstaDog wrote: Now for my question again...anybody know why the banks here wont open into my Temp Net folder
