Thinking about buying Zebra

It just sounds so cool. $200 is a lot, but man. It seems like a lot of presets aren't crippled in the demo at all, while others I can't get a decent sound out of. Is this how the demo restriction works? For example, in the "HS Rotary Club" preset I just hear a bunch of clicks, and I only get a real organ sound in maybe 1 out of every 10 key presses. Is this just in the demo? Thanks.

HS Rotary Club should sound like an organ every key press.
Try installing the latest beta: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 3#p5715583
See if that helps.
The only demo restriction is after about 15 mins Zebra starts to only play the notes C - E - B - r - A where "r" is a random note. Presets should otherwise sound identical to the fully registered version.

That's really odd. Do you have an mp3 that you could send to support at u-he dot com?nguitars wrote:It just sounds so cool. $200 is a lot, but man. This is weird I downloaded the latest beta from the link above and it says "Zebra2.dll is not a valid VST plugin", but it only does that sometimes, other times it loads fine. I'm using Minihost.
I sent an attachment mp3 to support@u-he.com It only seems to have this problem after I've been playing with it for about 15 minutes which makes me think it is the demo restriction.

Great, thanks
The oddity with loading in some hosts is fixed on our side, but we haven't posted these versions yet (too much going on here atm)
To be honest, I can not explain those clicks you get - normally I would reckon an accidental midi learn (see our FAQ), but in this case it doesn't seem so. It may indeed be better for you to wait until we're finished with our current maintenance procedure, and see if it fixes the dll loading as well as the strange behaviour.
Cheers,
- Urs

Oh, there is one thing... you could save the preset with those clicks and send it to us. We can then compare it and figure out whether ot not it's a fault with settings - or processing.

The "a real note once every handful, otherwise quiet/click/muffled" (after 15 minutes) is how the demo worked for me too. No problems with the production version here though.
