New Wusik 4000 Video: Wave Sequencer MIDI Module

http://www.wusik.com/ww/products/wusik-4000

The MIDI Wave Sequencer creates MIDI Note Events. So each step can be multi-polyphonic depending on the Envelope settings. What it means? Simple, this is kinda like an advanced ARP Sequencer, but each note has extra options: Layer, Volume, Pan, Sample-Start, ... the Layer selector is which layer from the sample player it should play, instead of the first or all layers.

Here we are showcasing the new modules, including a great Organ emulator that generates MIDI notes, so it can be used with any Sound Generator

Just a heads-up since some users missed that we are no longer posting here, but on our forum, as we are very close to a final release. :hyper:

Here's the list of all updates since our last post here...

March 24 2014 - Version 1.0.0 rc16

- New MIDI Module: Beat Sequencer - 32 Steps Beat Sequencer (analog style), 28 Patterns, 14 Tracks/Instruments and 2 Accent Tracks.
- Sample Player: on Windows, if a Wusik Station link is detected, it will also create a Wusik Station Sounds shortcut in the sample's list.
- Added new option (click the Wusik 4000 logo): Screen Refresh Rate. From 5 ms to 250 ms. Default is 25ms (before it was 100 ms). This is used by Custom GUI Modules such as the Oscilloscope and also the Beat Sequencer.
- Fixed a time problem only for the first step on the Arp Sequencer and Wave Sequencer.
- Several new sets of sounds from Wusik Station were uploaded as ZIP files, so MAC users (or users without Wusik Station installed) can download and load those sounds into the Sample Player (no presets were designed yet). Hint about installing extra sounds: extract any extra SOUND sets into the "Wusik 4000 Data\Modules Extras\Sample Player" folder.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 21 2014 - Version 1.0.0 rc8

- Added Right Button Drag and Middle Button Drag support to fine tune and extra fine tune knobs (holding Shift and/or Ctrl also works). It also works with modulation destinations.
- Updated ADSR and AR Envelopes Max Time from 20s to 6s.
- Sample Player: added support to load Stereo WusikSND files that were saved as Two Mono files named with -R or -L at the end as a single stereo layer. You can load either one of the -R or -L files and it will load the other file on the side and create a single stereo layer just as it would with a stereo file.
- Sample Player: fixed a problem with empty zones halting voices.
- Sample Player: added SFZ support (thanks to SFZ Zero from Steve Folta - github.com/stevefolta/SFZero). Most opcodes are supported.
- Added another set of sound for MAC users or users without Wusik Station installed: Orchestral Lite and Retro DS (the presets are in the DATA files installer). Wusik Station users should have this set already in the SoundSets folder, in a directory called "HQ Piano Sets". Wusik 4000 will load from those files directly, but you need the same shortcut used by Wusik Station to the Wusik Station Data folder. If you don't have that, install Wusik Station first and be sure that the Wusik Station Data shortcut is in the same place as the Wusik 4000.dll VST file(s). In any event, if you have both Wusik Station and Wusik 4000 VST DLL files in the same place, you are ready to go, since Wusik 4000 will see the Wusik Station Data folder (or shortcut) and go from there.
- New presets using the sounds listed above: Orchestral Lite for now (Wusik Station users don't need to download the SOUNDS_WS_* files, as they are already included with Wusik Station (WS).
- Hint about installing extra sounds: extract any extra SOUND sets into the "Wusik 4000 Data\Modules Extras\Sample Player" folder.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 19 2014 - Version 1.0.0 rc6

- The Layer Options now have a new knob: PFilt = Parallel Filter Processing.
- Sample Player updated: added new Module Option -> Key-Note to Pan.
- Sample Player updated: sound layers now have volume, transpose, key and velocity zone settings that are saved per preset. This way you can load up two sounds and arrange it to different key or velocity areas without having to create a new sound file. By default sounds will always load to the entire keyboard and velocity range.
- Sample Player updated: better drawing of elements.
- Mouse Wheel is now used to scroll up/down the main window and is no longer used by knobs, buttons and custom modules.
- Fixed a serious memory problem that was producing problems when loading large modules or large samples in the sample-player.
- New code for the knobs, now holding SHIFT, clicking and dragging the mouse in a knob will fine-tune it and holding both CTRL+SHIFT will do an extra fine-tune.
- Added another set of sounds for MAC users or users without Wusik Station installed: HQ Pianos and HQ Guitars (the presets are in the DATA files installer).
- New presets using the sounds listed above: HQ Pianos and HQ Guitars. (Wusik Station users don't need to download the SOUNDS_WS_* files, as they are already included with Wusik Station (WS).
- Hint about installing extra sounds: extract any extra SOUND sets into the "Wusik 4000 Data\Modules Extras\Sample Player" folder.
- Module SDK - several important updates, older modules must be recompiled to be able to run from this version forward. Added support for module version number.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 12 2014 - Version 1.0.0 rc5

- Sample Player updated: added Granular Synthesis with the following options: Number of Grains, Grain Fade In/Out Shape and Speed. The size of the grains is set by the note-pitch. The grain position is set by the SStart input, so you can use any modulation output to modulate the grain position and size. Lower notes (tune + octave + note number) = bigger grain sizes. You can also set a fixed pitch by using the Module's Menu Options -> Fixed Pitch. Speed at Max value = uses Note Pitch instead of the Speed value. The granular synthesis is an extra option, so everything else works along: dual mode, multiple layers, round-robing, key-switching, fade waveforms, wave sequencing, ...
- New Modulation Module: SH Smooth. Modulation Processor with two options: Smooth and Sample & Hold.
- New Filter Module: M24 LP Filter Poly. Polyphonic Cascaded Low Pass 24db Resonant Filter.
- New Filter Module: M24 Multi Filter Poly. Polyphonic Cascaded Multi 24db Resonant Filter: lowpass, bandpass, highpass (it has a different design - also, input should be a bit low so it doesn't clip the audio).
- XY Pad: fixed a problem of reset not setting the correct default/current value.
- Sample Player problem fixed: on MAC OSX the preset sounds were not been loaded back.
- For examples of all features, including the ones above, be sure to check the presets under Presets\W4k Bank One\Showcasing

I can't get this to work on mac either. It doesn't make any sense. This simply doesn't work on Logic X from what I can tell.
Mac Studio Ultra, 64ram, 4tb+<4tb Samsung850-860evo ssd's in TB3 Akitio Enclosure> UAD Apollo x6-tb3/Yamaha2050/Amphion/Bowers&Wilkins/Komplete S61Mk2} latest OSX

Post

Please, which OSX version? Any error messages?

Post

Mac OS X 10.9.3, Using Wusik 4000 1.02/ Logic X works just fine here.

Post

Thanks. Did you test V1.0.4 too?

Post

Mac OS X 10.9.3/Wusik 4000 1.04 B1/Logic X (I downloaded "Beta2" but the About screen shows B1) Anyway, it seems to validate, load and play fine (it *did* crash the first time I tried loading the sampled guitars, but I was also in the middle of rendering video at the time - no subsequent trouble)

thanks I finally had some time to fix things with how they were messed up on my system evidently my daw and the latest windows 8.1 are not happy with each other. Just figured it out today after a long weekend studying forums and lots of trial and error deleting and reinstalling stuff and messing with registry.

Turns out guys that windows 8 has a program compatibility trouble shooter and it just out of no where decided to ask me if I was having a problem with that program and when I used it to trouble shoot my daw started behaving better. Amazing and now I know how to fix that situation and make my DAW behave. Looking forward to doing it to it now my system is back and fully operational. I was literally thinking of switching daws but not anymore.

4000 is running nice and I am up and getting into it. Thanks for letting me in.

Guys, I'm listening, I'm currently optimizing the whole Wusik 4000 code and is a nightmare, a lot of work. So bear with me, I'm very slow and crazy here... :hihi:

We posted some new files, but I still need more MAC users to report of the current plugin and new installer are working on older OSx versions, if they use it. So far I only had reports of one users having problems with the new installer on OSX 10.8, but I already created a new installer to test it out.

Please, are any other MAC users here that uses older OSX versions for production and wants to check if both our installer and plugins are working? I posted about this over the following thread:
