Hi,
Would you mind checking this out for me please ?
Take a midi track, stick a VSTi on it with a 'long' patch (something like strings). Hit Play, now wait until you reach a long-ish note. Hit Stop as soon as the note sounds but BEFORE the end of the note is reached. Now rewind to the beginning and hit Play.
Do you get the rest of the note that was sounding when you hit Stop ? 'Cos I do !
I can't say I noticed that before updating to 1.5.1.16 last night - but I could easily be wrong.
Anyone get the same ? - or is it my system ?
I've tried it with several VSTi's and get the same thing.

It appears to work fine on mine
Just tried it in the new build using a small song - 2 midi clips - i had started in the previous build... used a string patch in Discovery 2, long-ish note, stopped the transport 1/4 way through playing the note and the patch just went into the release phase of the envelope as expected.

strange... it's not doing a note-off when i rendered a synth doing some notes, stopping, drums come in, then coming back on... It didn't render the cut note!

Are you saying that the instant you hit Stop, the release part of the note continues to sound until it dies away ?submerge wrote:It appears to work fine on mine

On mine, the instant I hit Stop, ALL sounds cease immediately - including any 'open' notes. I get silence. THEN if I rewind to the start and hit play, I hear the release phase of the note that was playing when I hit Stop (before the song starts again). Is this what you see or not ? I'm a bit confused !

I see.... turning on e-to-e does stop the odd behaviour. Strange though. Another one of those 'not really a bug, just a "feature"' kind of things. ...the one's I call 'loose ends'

Just for your peace of mind - after seeing this I just tried it with e-to-e off and I do get results you reported initially, so nothing to worry about lets all just keep e-to-e on and live in peaceAneng wrote:I see.... turning on e-to-e does stop the odd behaviour.
