Think I found a bug. Was setting the 'Blue Button' colour whilst an audio clip was selected and the 'Render Clip' button seems to have some erroneous text under it which is revealed when that colour setting is below a particular transparency level. Think it says 'Adjust Markers'. Pic attached.

Also, is it me or doesnt the clip colour assignment work?

Finally, two requests:

First is there any way to set the colour of the level meter filter in an Aux Send?
Also, can the snowflake image on the Freeze point be XOR'd white the same way text is, so its visible against dark colours?

okay, on further checking, I can assign a colour to a Marker clip, but only when none of the RGB colour assignment sliders for 'Marker clip base colour' are at FF ?
But I still cant assign a colour to a MIDI or Audio clip, no matter what the relevant clip base colour RGB sliders are at.

edit : Just realised i didnt mention the platform. This is on Win7 x64, x64 version of Trakction.

Does anyone know how to define color swatches for tracks/clips?

Hi satYatunes

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking but if you select the track or clip and click on one of the colors in the palette in the control panel at the bottom of the page it should apply that color to the clip or track you selected.

I want to change the swatch i.e. selection of colors. I don't like the bright colors that's on the current swatch.

I think he knows that, what he's asking is, is there a way to define the palette in the swatches to start with? At the moment I can't see one - would be nice not to just have primary colours though. What you can do (what I did in my skin) is define the underlying base colour and give it some transparency - then the resulting track colour will be more muted and not a primary colour.

(a) Ive already said that's not necessarily working
(b) that's not what he's talking about, he's talking about controlling the colours that tracks can be set to.

@whyterabbyt: Clip color assignment is working. I tried it just now. If I make the MIDI clip base color transparent then obviously clip colors doesn't show up. See if you have it transparent. Tried it on same platform as yours Win 7, 64, T64 version.
Your skin looks good, I like the whole color scheme. Play, forward buttons are too dark and doesn't gel with the whole color scheme.

@aMUSEd: Thanks for the tip. Using transparency on MIDI clip and Audio track base color does work nicely for the clip colors.

@theoldguy: Thanks but that's not what I was asking, others have cleared up already and it seems there is no option at the moment.

More question: How do you change the colors for the sliders? For example, take a look at @whyterabbyt skin above, I am talking about the blue slider on Aux Send #1 on track 5.

Where are all the T5 users? I am surprised to see only a handful of people in this thread, whereas almost everyone was after the TSC team to bring the color editor back. Not much action in T forum as well. Other reason would be all are happy with included skins. They are excellent. Anyway, I have developed a silver skin too. I will finalize all 3 (dark, blue and silver) in a day or two then will pack up.

Im now not sure whether I wasnt thorough in what I was checking last night, in saying that any slider at FF stopped it working, because my description of it isnt quite right as to what Im seeing right now, ie for MIDI and Audio clips it needs all 3 sliders at FF before it happens. But as soon as all 3 are at FF, it disables me setting the colour of that clip

But its not the transparency setting, it works fine on any alpha value as long as the RGB isnt FF:FF:FF

edit : wait, its not just FF:FF:FF, its any RGB setting where the RGB values are all equal. So if the clip is 'pure' grey, black or white then the clip colour wont work?

Cheers, I'd wanted the transport to stand out a bit, but you're right. Ive now toned down all the 00:00:00 colours like that to 20:20:20 and it looks better.

Yup, I asked this too, cant find anythign that affects that one, and it seems unrelated to the popup slider that is associated with it.
Also, doesnt seem to be anything associated with the background of volume meters on track inputs and the final output meter below the transport controls. They seem to be pure black by default.

Very nice. Looking forward to this one, assuming you'll be sharing it when complete.

Yup, will do. Here's where Im at now, with clip colours behaving themselves... I think this is 99% there.

A bit of a bug when using the new color editor...
If the color editor is open, and you try to create a new project, the "new project" dialog pops up under the color editor.

The result is that Tracktion appears to be locked up. You can't close Tracktion or the Color Editor, or in fact do much of anything until you move the color editor window out of the way to complete or cancel the New Project dialog.

Obviously not a showstopper, but certainly unexpected behavior.
