This definitely looks useful (for me). :)

Just placed my order for the pre-order.
Definitely more than happy to!

I'm a former Alchemy owner and still a current Kore 2 owner. I can say already that there is definitely some overlap between Alchemy (spectral synthesis, playback position, morphing between samples and morph pads) and Kore 2 (plugin hosting, morph pads) - and even more if using with Alchemy in Kore 2, in your DAW with Leap Controller using an app like Geco.

Still the reason why I'll be picking this up is for it's seemingly ease of use for creating certain types of sound effects. To do what this appears to do in the videos is (or can be) very time consuming. Also, the price point right now is good enough for me to justify picking this up.

For me it's hard not to be interested in something that can speed up workflows and have a low price point. This is not the all versatile tool that Alchemy is, but that can also be an extremely good thing.

The fun part is controlling live, and I think the biggest drawback is no automation (which may or may not be problematic depending on the usage of the desired output sound, in particular, placement of events within the created WAV file).

Anyway, I'll be more than happy to report back, or even through PM if there's specifics you'd like me to try out.

Thanks for the comments, looking forward to your future observations. I too own Alchemy and Kore 2, and still am considering this for its directness and ease of use. No specifics, just overall impressions once you've played with it some…..

That did help some, still considering the purchase. How long is the sale on? Does the TouchOSC template come with it?

jc_vt wrote:It does look interesting, and nice GUI, but I wonder how different it really is from, say, Alchemy (or Kore even) and its pad variations. Sure, it has some features Alchemy does not, but Alchemy also does a lot more than this seems to. There is room for both, I suspect, just looking for a little more insight to help with a possible purchase decision.

Greetings JC_VT,

For now you can have a look at our tutorial video, perhaps it will help you to decide a bit more. We would say that it is quite different from Alchemy, and also quite a bit less cost wise, but the value of it is of course in the eye of the beholder. :) Have a look at the tutorial though, perhaps it will help you decide. Cheers!

I would agree, recording movements is an obvious improvement (and pretty common on iPad music apps); I hope this will be included in the future.

Have to post a major heads-up for potential buyers... This is a message from their "readme" text:
There is a current Bug in Max 6.1 that causes some VSTs to click.

If you have that issue, you can use version 0.0.9.
That version was created with Max 6.0 which doesn't have that bug.

Beware Leap Motion is only functional in TimeFlux 1.0.1
So there you go... If you were looking to use Leap Motion with this (like I was), then you're out of luck.

Samples are organized into 5 folders, labeled as Time Enter, Time Exit, Time Drones, Time Glitch and Time Stop. Evaluating these sample will be obviously subjective but I will add that I wish there was a bit more organization. I personally don't think I have a use for them, but maybe another user would find them useful.

Unfortunately version 1.0.1 presents a lot of clicks in use, so I won't comment on sound quality (and I'll probably not bother installing version 0.0.9 and just wait for a fix since I got this to use with the Leap Motion controller).

As for functionality... I could definitely see this as something useful once fixed. The spectral conversion (morpher) is very quick and sound quality is nice during playback.

There are in total, 4 VST slots. 1 slot for the master output, 1 slot for both Morpher sources (A or B) and then 1 VST slot per each Sample slot (where playback speed and direction of each sample can be affected).

The Stretcher slots allow the sample the be either sped up, slowed down or reversed (and sped up or slowed down). This is like a "tape" effect.

There are four 3 pole filters that are sorted the same way as the VST are (1 for morpher, 1 each per "stretcher" sample source and 1 more on the master).

Saving presets in the 8 slots is easy enough (shift click) and using the "orb" section is much like you'd expect it to be.

My gripes with this (other than not being able to use the Leap Motion controller) are as follows:

VST and filter routing is hardwired to specific sound sources. It'd be nice to have the option of running things in parallel or series (but Kore 2 would work a workaround).

Knobs don't have a default position, which is noticeable especially on the basic playback options like, Panning, Playback speed and Volume (although that one at max is simply playing the sample back at full volume and any changes are reductions).

Removing previously chosen VSTs can be slow to respond, as well as the removal of chosen parameter of the corresponding VST.

Anyway, I'll give it another go once an update is released, but I'll be shelving this one for now (unfortunately).

Greetings. I just purchased the TimeFlux/WaveWarper/Galactic Assistant bundle, but am having issues with the screen size of both TimeFlux and WaveWarper. They are too large for my screen - thus the features on the bottom are completely hidden and can't be used. On the site it says that ones screen display needs to be 1024x768 or higher. My screen display is 1600x900 yet still no luck. I'm using a Windows 7 64-bit pc. Although I've tried to resize the screen manually from the bottom corners, I can't reach the bottom corners because it stretches beyond my screen. In addition, I can't scroll down even when I maximize the screen. Am I the only one who has this issue? I'm really looking forward to using these so, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your screen is set for its max?

Post

Hi. Yes. It is set at it's absolute max 1600 X 900. My screen is also a 1.HP Omni 120. Not sure if that helps.
