Developers that use such a "retarded language" don't merit much respect.
Furthermore I don't believe that U-he produces any outstanding un-replaceable products.
In the years 2006-2009 they were pretty less arrogant than they're now.
Hence commercial "success" can spoil people…… deja-vu!

The most pathetic thing about you, Delfinoverde, is not that you want to believe all the silly bullshit that crackers tell you.

No, the most pathetic thing is that it's actually important for you.

"I make cracks because developers are evil and, by the way, that makes me an artist and a philanthropist"

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

@Delfinoverde, I'm genuinely curious why you defend cracking/reverse-engineering so voraciously. Why do you take such offense to u-he aggressively defending the products they work very hard to create and support?
Delfinoverde wrote:The "deluded Disciples" as you say, are many times deluded ex-customers.
I am genuinely confused by this statement too. The u-he products have some of the least-intrusive copy protection on the market today. The demos never expire and registered customers often get several revisions of software. Zebra2 users have received patches, bug-fixes, and new modules since 2006 all for free.

Customer support is also some of the finest for any commercial software I've ever purchased.

Could you provide examples of why you think customers become jaded with u-he and decide to become "ex-customers"? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this in a rational and clear-headed approach.

Post

i don't think i've ever *seen* an ex-customer of u-he to be honest...
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

For all I know, you are an admirer and even a friend of criminals that cost me time and money. How do you think you deserve to be treated by me? Like an equal to my customers? That would be an insult to the people who actually save up and buy our stuff.

The true arrogance is that you think you and your friends deserve any form of recognition. It won't happen, we're not your Mommie.

There is little rational about his story, their excuses are distributed at large and are applied to anyone and on any occasion: "developers are greedy, developers are arrogant, developers ignore their customers ... give me my crack".

It's like if all developers came from an evil planet. "If they were good I would pay for my software".
"A pig that doesn't fly is just a pig."

I think there's people who want to swim against the stream, just for the sake of swimming against the stream. You shouldn't do that, especially without a good argument in your backpack.

Hey delfinoverde, how would you like it if people started stealing your music and then torrented it?

This is the U-he forum. You coming here and glorifying the people who steal from the developers is exceptionally rude.

If these sorts of individuals were using their (over-rated) hacking skills to expose corporate/government crime, well, okay, I could give them credit for that... But stealing from small developers who often just barely make a living at it and who frequently give free software anyway is NOT artful. There is nothing admirable about that and it is not a mark of free spirited living. Rather it is just the opposite... a parasitic dependence on the 'system' that they then ridicule in order to elevate themselves.

Urs said he gets 20-30 sales a month from ppl who are using 'cracked' versions....so it seems the 'teams' are doing him a favour.... :hihi:

Anyway, why isnt this thread locked...its against the rules to talk about warez

+1.
Like many others here, I appreciate the time and effort u-he put into their designs. I applaud Urs for approaching the pirating game with some 'sport' of his own too.
I'm pretty new to u-he software but most certainly not new to synthesizers (been at it now since the early 80's) and I have to say, I am VERY impressed with Diva (which I recently purchased) and equally impressed with Bazille which I will be purchasing too.

For me, purchasing Diva was a no brainer. Where else can you get the sound of a bunch of classic synths (these actually DO sound like the physical hardware) with polyphony (minimoogs are mono) and as many instances as your CPU can handle for a FRACTION of the cost of ONE of their hardware equivalents?

Keep up the great work Urs and team. Most of us appreciate your talent and are prepared to show it with our purchases.

I believe that only the developer can lock a thread in a developer's subforum.

Of course also U-he takes advantages from cracked software exposed on very good visited (wares) sites. I doubt they admit it openly. Furthermore Mr.Heckmann likes threads like these because he can go witch-hunting (the Spanish Inquisition! :hihi: ) and continue to whine & moan about the "painted devils" on the wall of his brain.
