A couple of things might make it useful for some KVR folks. I see posts here where people are encouraged to learn a little guitar for input, rather than trying to fake it with samples on the keyboard. This version of Rocksmith is touted as a fun learning tool as well as being a game.

Also, if you don't have a lot of gear (or maybe want to have quick connection to your laptop?), the ADC in the cable apparently is pretty good-sounding and can get low latency with ASIO4ALL. Instructions are all over the net.

And -- If you're willing to do a little bit of looking, you can also get all of the other songs from the earlier version for about $15, then buy the importer from Steam for another $10.

Lots of back-and-forth on this software/hardware, so I advise doing your research first.
