Two questions:

(1) In ST3 edit page I can't see any "import" function (the one that lets ST2 import samples from Akai, SampleCell, WAV, AIFF etc.). What about importing features in ST3?

(2) A good thing regarding ST2 is that its library is customizable (for example, I deleted all the voices/choir, loops and other instruments which I never use... I deleted almost 3 gb out of 6). Is it still possible to do that in ST3, or the 33 gb factory library must be fully installed (like e.g. the huge unmodifiable Omnisphere "steam engine")?

1. Import is available on the PLAY screen (the icon to the left of INFO gives multiple options including import).

2. You can delete sounds and samples you are not using.

I have a couple of questions to clarify transfer policy here:

Will the upgrade be tied to our current version of ST2 or if in case it somehow doe not work, will I be able to sell it as separate to someone that also has ST2?

And of course, what will the transfer fees be if that happens?

You need the previous product in order to register the upgrade version, regardless so they will need to have the appropriate version of SampleTank 2.x registered in their account too. Transfer fees at the time of transfer will be applicable, as well as any other transfer policies.

What it turns out to be not very good?

SampleTank 2 is 10 years old. The latest addons for it are what, 7-8 years old now? They still sound great. Dated, not very detailed, sometimes wacky, but the sounds themselves are crafted way better than anything, given the memory footprint of each preset. after all this time, IKMM has gained much expertise in this area, and, if i'm not mistaken, you can already hear some of the ST3 presets in SampleTank for iDevices. do they sound like crap? IKMM has stepped up their game very much - the amps, the T-Racks modules, everything is top-notch. from where i'm standing, there's nothing to worry about.

Why haven't they already got hour long demo videos going through a few hundred of the instruments? What are we supposed to base this purchasing decision on? About ten minutes of about five instruments, and useless pictures of instruments?

And to reiterate what somebody else just said, why is there no free 64 bit version? I have run FL Studio in admin. mode (and used to have to run Renoise in admin. mode when I had it) in order to run Sampletank 2.2. Why should I and all other happy ST 2 owners have to pay for something almost ALL other developers give away for free as an update - a 64 bit version?

We've explained the 64-bit free version and there's a sticky post on our forum about it for months. As far as sounds (and also videos) we have uploaded a HUGE amount of sounds to our SoundCloud page and around 50 videos made live the night before the preorder news. I assume you haven't seen those?

Edit - I see this actually answers the question you ask later "where are these on their site?" (there are Audio and Video links on the left side of the SampleTank 3 page for your convenience too, not just these direct links). Since this is a ground-up rewrite and 100% new product the structure will be different enough to require that you import your old MULTIs (meaning it will not be a drag and drop of files but will exist for you as a process).
