By the end of July according to the info given.
So they missed the deadline for the middle of the year...
That is still well within "around mid-year" which was the timeframe stated. (or "within mid-year" but that didn't really sound great to me, though technically correct grammatically)
Wasn't being serious about this at all Peter. Hence, the 'winky'. :D

Will the upgrade be tied to our current version of ST2 or if in case it somehow doe not work, will I be able to sell it as separate to someone that also has ST2?
And of course, what will the transfer fees be if that happens?
You need the previous product in order to register the upgrade version, regardless so they will need to have the appropriate version of SampleTank 2.x registered in their account too. Transfer fees at the time of transfer will be applicable, as well as any other transfer policies.
This one I am serious about though, since I need to have some reassurance that if it crashes on my system as the other 64 bit IKM products did, that I won't have to sell ST2 along with it.
I'm assuming the license itself will be separate from ST2 the same way T-Racks Grand upgrade was from the T-Racks Deluxe in Total Studio 3?

upgrade license is just that, upgrade license. it'll only work if you have the product you're upgrading from. e.g. if i don't have anything IK, and i buy sampletank 3 upgrade from you, i can't use that license, because i have nothing to upgrade from. it's not a full, standalone license - it's a right to use sampletank 3 provided you own something else (miroslav or STXL in thise case).
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Usage of jampoints was reduced from 50% to 30% so that they can be used on sales, so why can't they?
They will be usable on introductory pricing, details of the pricing tiers/timing here: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=4109

This is just baloney double-speak, either they work on sales or not.

You said previously that usage had been reduced from 50% to 30% so that they could be used on sales.

Gotcha, I was moving fast and catching up. I catch your drift now, though :)

The license is an upgrade license so if they don't have ST 2 XL they won't be able to authorize it.

I understand this. What I'm asking is if it works the way the T-Racks upgrades do or if they've implemented any new system... for instance, like U-He does with Zebra 2 and Zebra HZ or KV331 does with Synthmaster Soundbanks.

Just a clarification before I purchase, instead of finding out after the purchase.

JamPoints question was raised (I believe in this thread already) and the response is still:
After going through many-tiered and overly-complex pricing structures, IK decided that we would offer the lowest introductory price for upgrade, crossgrade, and full versions directly from the start and to many more people than would have originally qualified (with or without JamPoints). So you are now able to preorder SampleTank 3 at the lowest possible price, without having to use your JamPoints at all and for the price originally targeted as the lowest with JamPoints use - you can use them for other things, while still getting the price point you would have reached for SampleTank 3 by using JamPoints. I hope this helps.
Bottom line is that the $99.99 lowest price is available to many without any hassle (I've seen a lot call JamPoints "useless" and "complex" I'm sure you have seen it too) and it is a fantastic deal. Whether the preorder pricing is the right deal for you is as always up to you.

But they are used and usable by many (on the great new T-RackS processors, AmpliTube gear from Wampler and ENGL, our top mobile interfaces, etc). Another "bottom line" - would you rather we had a higher price on this so you could use your JamPoints up on it, or $99.99? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to that, and we thought the same thing.

Again, I understood this from the beginning.
And again, what I'm asking about if once authorized; if for some reason ST3 will not work on my system, will I be able to sell it to someone with ST2 XL for their upgrade OR will I have to sell both ST2 XL and the ST3 upgrade as a 'locked license'?

Again, it will be transferrable to someone who already has SampleTank 2 XL I never said anything is a "locked license". Thanks. If you think there are nuances of your situation that aren't covered, you can ask support though I'm passing information directly from our Support Manager so it is accurate.

I would appreciate that you took care of your former customers.

I've spent over €200 on IK products during the last two years, that has netted me a total of €13 jampoints.

In the big picture that jampoint number is a tiny sum, but as a matter of principle I don't appreciate being led behind the light.

I don't foresee myself spending more on IK products for quite some time.

No, no. I think it was a direct question to which this last reply indirectly answers it. :hihi:
