Does somebody other than your company control the lowest price then? LOL. You're trying to make it sound like $99.99 is the lowest you can 'possibly' go. Who cares about customer satisfaction? You might lose $20 in Jampoints, can't have that!Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:But they are used and usable by many (on the great new T-RackS processors, AmpliTube gear from Wampler and ENGL, our top mobile interfaces, etc). Another "bottom line" - would you rather we had a higher price on this so you could use your JamPoints up on it, or $99.99? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to that, and we thought the same thing.

Former customers that have been long-time SampleTank users will be receiving a bonus in JamPoints at release which they can use to get the best deal on their upgrade if they choose not to preorder.Numanoid wrote:I would appreciate that you took care of your former customers.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:would you rather we had a higher price on this so you could use your JamPoints up on it, or $99.99?
I've spent over €200 on IK products during the last two years, that has netted me a total of €13 jampoints.
In the big picture that jampoint number is a tiny sum, but as a matter of principle I don't appreciate being led behind the light.
I don't foresee myself spending more on IK products for quite some time.
$99.99 pricing (as well as the other well-priced tiers) is a low price and we feel it takes care of former customers quite well. I am sorry that you don't agree and seems you've moved on so I won't bother you about it and will move on with other topics in this thread too. Thank you for your suggestions and input.

Me neither. I have 21 Euros in Jampoints. If I want to re-download the ten or so xpansion tanks I bought (in good faith), it will cost me 7.99 Euros EACH, and they only cost 15 odd Euros each in the first place. This is precisely how you do NOT do business. It's almost unbelievable. If I was in charge, I would be trying to get every existing ST2 customer to upgrade to ST3 by making it a NO-BRAINER price - let them use their jampoints, give them a reduced price for the first three months AFTER release (so we can read reviews and watch users' videos of it), etc.etc. People will then be more likely to buy it.Numanoid wrote:I would appreciate that you took care of your former customers.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:would you rather we had a higher price on this so you could use your JamPoints up on it, or $99.99?

It costs IKM NOTHING to manufacture (i.e. replicate) this product - if they sell you a copy for 50 Euros because you used your Jampoints, that's 50 Euros more than the NOTHING they get if they continue like this. Way to destroy customer loyalty.
So, any explanation as to why it costs 7.99 Euros to download a 2GB file? I can run a VPS for that price for TWO MONTHS.

I wouldn't regard simply answering a potential customer's concerns as 'bothering them'. Still, just ignore us, it's plain to see how IKM operates.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Former customers that have been long-time SampleTank users will be receiving a bonus in JamPoints at release which they can use to get the best deal on their upgrade if they choose not to preorder.Numanoid wrote:I would appreciate that you took care of your former customers.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:would you rather we had a higher price on this so you could use your JamPoints up on it, or $99.99?

This is like a never ending riddle, why would then long time Sample Tank users even think about preordering, if they can get the same deal after it has been released?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Former customers that have been long-time SampleTank users will be receiving a bonus in JamPoints at release which they can use to get the best deal on their upgrade if they choose not to preorder.
Seeing how overdue ST3 is (it was promised in 2013) I would think twice or three times before I locked some cash in a preorder.
Price after preorder period = €120. Those who have got €36 jampoints, can then get the price down to €84 (not much more than pre-order price)

That is your prerogative, you have multiple choices here, and I am sure you will make the one that is best for you.
@basslinemaster - I'm not ignoring you or anybody else, nor is IK. I'm sorry you don't agree with what is offered but you always have choices and if you are no longer interested in IK you seem very interested in participating in this thread so perhaps I'm wrong about that (which I'd be happy to be wrong about). Also, sound reactivation period will be increasing to one year soon too, FYI. I thought I had relayed that earlier, but I may not have here. Thank you.

And I guess it sounds pretty good (hopefully interested parties have heard the many audio demos and watched the ~50 videos made live the night before the preorder was announced) since we've had pages of discussion about how to get the best pricing deal?

Perhaps it comes down to simply bemoaning the past.
"Buy the ticket, take the ride" as one author used to say.
Besides for my personal reasons in system anomalies unresolved, I am fond of the samples at the heart of STank.
And that leads me to 'buying the ticket'...
So, for those of you that took the Sweetwater route, how long does it take to get the electronic gift certificate once bought?

"At release". When the upgrade price will be not $99.99 but $149.99. If you're lucky with the Jampoints you might get it for as low as $99.99 lolPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:Former customers that have been long-time SampleTank users will be receiving a bonus in JamPoints at release which they can use to get the best deal on their upgrade if they choose not to preorder.

Let me add that if that is the case, that users find Jampoints "useless" and "complex" I think it would be wise that Jampoints was given a less prominent place on the IK webpage then it has now, listed under "hot" like if it was a reward programmePeter - IK Multimedia wrote:(I've seen a lot call JamPoints "useless" and "complex" I'm sure you have seen it too)

Buying online via IKM is a bit of a scam insofar that they add that 22% VAT on top of whatever you buy. Where I live, at least the sales tax is included in the price, so you don't get any nasty little surprises when you click 'buy.'
I'll stay on the sidelines and eat my popcorn, and wait for a sale that makes it worth my while, VAT included.

We don't control taxation in any country (would be cool, though) and we add it [edit and show you it and the total, of course] before you check out fully.Bombadil wrote:Buying online via IKM is a bit of a scam insofar that they add that 22% VAT on top of whatever you buy. @Numanoid - I didn't say I agreed with "many" here on a few forums vs the very many that actually use them every day. They are prominent on our site because they are valuable to a large portion of our very large user base. My point was that if some folks on forums call them "useless" then why is it a big deal now? You can use them on the introductory pricing if you wish. You can choose not to use them at all if you wish.
Edit - And yet another bottom line... If you didn't realize yet, it IS a rewards/loyalty program and it is useful to many. Now they can use them on other things if they wish, because if the price were higher and using JamPoints was allowed to get the price down to the preorder level, they'd have none to use elsewhere. But I understand you are unhappy so go ahead and keep posting those weird rebuttals but if you have questions or concerns about JamPoints going forward you may just want to use the multiple methods of contact available on our site from here on in. I don't think I'm stating it in a way you understand (or at very least not in a way you like).
