I have connected my mic to Alesis IO4 and connected IO4 to lap top via USB. I opened Mulab but
I cannot see the device or get an input. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? I have browed VST but cannot see anything.
I am running XP by the way.
As you can see I am a beginner so please be simple with your answers!
Cheers

Make this the audio driver for Mulab and you should see your Alesis as an audio input device.

Just tried and the only the input it can see is Sigma-tel? Is that another name for Alesis or is that Asioio4all? Still can't get a signal into the channel. I have set up the audio to work with Asio but it does not offer Alesis. I must be really stupid but am really at a loss how to get it to work.. I will keep trying but please try and send me some advice.

Unfortunately this Alesis audio device does not come with an ASIO driver. So if you want to use audio input the only solution indeed is to use Asio4All. The error message in MuLab is a consequence of the audio device not properly running. Please follow the Asio4All guides, tips and tricks at http://www.asio4all.com/ and also search the web for "Alesis iO4" + "Asio4All".

It is working!! But...
Whilst I have set up audio to have 4 inputs and I can choose any of the 4 when setting up my audio recorder, if I try and add a second track and set up the recorder to record a second mic, it changes both to whatever I seclect.
Is this because it is the Free/Demo version or am I not doing something I should?
THanks

Also note that the basic "thing" to record audio in MuLab is an Audio Recorder module.
So if you assign the same Audio Recorder to multiple tracks then changing that Audio Recorder's settings will affect all tracks that are using it. If you want different audio recording setups for different tracks, make sure each track uses a separate Audio Recorder that you can setup individually. Below here is an older mutube that explains the concept. I'll create an up to date version after M6 has been released.
